Lonely Boy by the Black Keys plays as our Payback intro, mostly focusing on WCF stars such as Nathan von Liebert, Chris Avery, Oblivion, Switches the Clown... you know, the insane ones with mental health issues. We go to Zach and Shannan.
Shannan Lerch: I'm pretty sure that song is about you, Zach, what with your never getting laid and all.
Zach Davis: That's why we're such a great pair, what with your CONSTANTLY getting laid and being a slut and all! Fans, welcome to Payback!
Shannan Lerch: We've got a stacked card from top to bottom tonight.
Zach Davis: That's right. Big World Title match tonight... Nathan von Liebert looks to cement himself as one of the fastest rising stars ever as he challenges Corey Black for the WCF World Title.
Shannan Lerch: VERY interesting matchup, Zach. Black is a known jobber-killer, and surely he sees von Liebert as a jobber. Nathan has proven that to not be the case, however, time and time again... he won the One Invitational, after all!
Zach Davis: Both men are taking this match very seriously; they both lost their Pick Your Poison matches last week by tapping out to avoid risking any injury that would hurt them going into tonight's matchup. An interesting and intelligent strategy, to be sure, but a bit unorthodox.
Shannan Lerch: We'll just see how it pays off. Despite the losses, Black and von Liebert both have a LOT of momentum going into this. Black RETIRED the monster known as Odin Balfore. RETIRED! We thought that was impossible. And Nathan has to be pumped, after winning a tournament at WCF's biggest show of the year... I can't wait.
Zach Davis: We've got a Tag Team Titles match, with the greatest team in WCF history, the New Confederacy, challenging Jeff Purse and Night Rider for the belts. Fans, you know the story here. Reb is being contractually forced into these matches. Quite frankly, I don't think he wants to win the belts. Henry, however, surely does. We'll just see how this plays out.
Shannan Lerch: Big TV Title match as well. Roy Speede goes one on one with Jonny Fly... uh, if Fly is here, anyway. He was recently kidnapped and stuff, and I don't watch the news, so quite frankly I'm not so sure what is going on with him. I guess we'll see.
Zach Davis: Speede, of course, is looking to avenge Kaylyn James Evans' loss at One, and win the belt for her. Speede may be Fly's biggest challenge to date; there is no greater motivation than a beautiful woman.
Shannan Lerch: D-Day, Oblivion, and Joel Hall team up to take on Gravedigger, Chester.... and Seth! My brother. I hope Seth knows what he is getting himself into.
Zach Davis: Seth has A LOT on his plate right now. From problems between MS-13 and D-Day and Oblivion, to his feud with Joel Hall, to his friend Logan going insane, to Jay Price.... this was Seth's plan to at least eliminate SOME of those problems. We'll just see if it works out that way.
Shannan Lerch: The People's Title is back! One of the most interesting Titles in WCF makes its return in a ... what do you call a match with five guys in it? A Fatal Five Way? A Five Pack Challenge? We need to think of something here, Zach.
Zach Davis: How about a Five Wrestler Death Punch match? No, that sounds a little too hardcore. Uh... screw it, lets just call it a Five Way Dance or something.
Shannan Lerch: Whatever. Either way, we've got Alex Bankmanship, Gage Gannon, Switches the Clown, Chris Avery, and Mr. FPV. Quite a bizarre cast of individuals if I do say so myself. Only one of them will walk out with the People's Title tonight.
Zach Davis: After quite a bizarre incident last week, we have Tek, Nic Daniels, and Don DeBeers teaming up to take on the GLS. The GLS has gotten QUITE a lot of enemies since they started here.
Shannan Lerch: And in our opener, the ONE man I might hate more than Creeping Death wrestles against newcomer Deonte Lane. I hope to God Lane beats him and Jay cries about it and quits or something.
Zach Davis: Well, let's get to the match, Shannan!
Kyle Steel: The following match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, Deonte Lane!
Deonte Lane comes out from the back and down to the ring with some generic fan favorite music playing. The crowd cheers.
Kyle Steel: And introducing his opponent...
All of the lights in the arena drop as the stage and ramp light up with an eerie red glow. The smarks in attendance know what's coming and they start up a "Jay Fucking Price" chant. Suddenly "4 Words To Choke Upon" hits the speakers as a series of strobe lights go off, causing the crowd to crazy. And then without warning the lights all come back on and the music cuts.
Zach Davis: What's this all about?
Jay Price walks out onto the stage, a confused look on his face as he looks around at the crowd. A WCF employee runs out from the back and whispers something to Price. Price becomes enraged as he grabs the employee and drops him with a Downfall.
Shannan Lerch: What's that? Okay I'm just now receiving word from the back...it seems due to budget concerns Jay Price's entrance music has been cut, along with his light show.
Zach Davis: I didn't know we had any budget concerns.
Shannan Lerch: *sigh* Something tells me my brother is behind this.
Price heads for the ring, a look of disgust on his face, and rolls in under the bottom rope. He forgoes the trip to the corner and yells for the referee to start the match.
<DING! DING! DING!>
Price goes right after him, but Lane drops him with a clothesline, followed by a second, and a third as Jay keeps getting to his feet quickly. DL catches him with a strong right to the face followed by a left to the gut, and sends Price up and then back down with a vertical suplex that made the ring shake from the height of the move.
Zach Davis: Things definitely aren’t looking good for Price. No entrance, and now this!
Shannan Lerch: I’m pretty sure my brother wanted exactly this.
Zach Davis: A really big guy beating up on Jay Price? Why didn’t he just hire Odin?
Shannan Lerch: Odin left. He started to fail epically and left.
Zach Davis: Oh yeah.
Lane catches Price with a leg drop across the throat and goes for the pin.
One... Two... Kickout.
Lane gets back to his feet, bounces off the ropes, and collides across Price’s chest with another elbow drop, and gets right back to his feet going the opposite way before hitting another leg drop. He pins again.
One... Two... Kickout.
Lane gets to his feet, and taunts to the crowd, receiving a moderate pop.
Shannan Lerch: At least the new guy seems to be pretty popular.
Zach Davis: Please. Jay Price was getting ten times the cheers when he first started out.
Shannan Lerch: Because people couldn’t wait to see who would be next in line to kick his ass, Zach.
Price gets to his feet and goes running, crashing both knees against the back of Deonte. Lane goes face first into the turnbuckle, falling to his knees in the process, and Price bounces off the ropes before hitting him with a dropkick to the back that makes the ring post shake from Lane’s size. Jay grabs one of DL’s legs, and pulls him toward the center of the ring enough so that Lane’s head bounces off each turnbuckle as he goes down, and Price hoists his leg high, well, as high as he can anyway, before sending it down, knee first, into the canvas.
Zach Davis: Two feet? Is that all Price can lift Deonte Lane’s leg? How embarrassing.
Shannan Lerch: Now, now, Zach. We all know you’re exaggerating... That was barely six inches!!
Zach Davis: Wait, what are we talking about now?
Shannan Lerch: Whoa now, Zach. He’s not even that big in bed.
As Lane gets to his feet, Price kicks him in the gut, then in the back of the knee, and then once more in the gut for good measure before bouncing off the ropes and clubbing him across the back of the head with a double axehandle. Deonte falls to the mat on his face, and Price climbs to the second rope, taunting the crowd who has erupted with chants.
Crowd: Fuck you Price! Fuck you Price! Fuck you Price!
Price turns around just as Deonte is getting to his feet and nails him with the Downfall!
One... Two... Three!!
<DING! DING! DING!>
Price gets to his feet and gets his hands raised in victory.
Zach Davis: Our next match will be a six man tag match with a lot of blood involved.
Shannan Lerch: That is an understatement. On the last Slam, we saw 'Dangerous' Don DeBeers watch Deaven Benett, from the crowd, then eventually interfering, attacking Bennett with a chair. The rest of The Good Looking Society come rushing down the ring, to go after Dangerous Don, but he leaves through the crowd.
Zach Davis: Exactly! That's when Leviathan and Teck Draven went after Tek, but the newcomer 'The Truth' Nic Daniels comes running down to the ring. He slides into the bottom ring rope and proceeds to clothesline Leviathan over the ropes and then kicks Draven and hits a Russian Legsweep! Draven, Leviathan and Benett eventually regroups at the ramp, while Tek and Nic Daniels stands in the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Not really sure if DeBeers and The Society are exactly allies, but they do have a common enemy... The Good Looking Society.
Welcome to the Family by Avenged Sevenfold begins to play and The Wells Fargo Arena explodes with thunderous boos.
Zach Davis: Here comes The GLS!!
Deaven Benett, Leviathan, and Teck Draven slowly walk down the ring ignoring the jeers and taunts by the crowd.
Shannan Lerch: The Good Looking Society are sure a cocky bunch!!
The GLS slide into the ring. all three separate members go to separate corners and climb up to the second turnbuckle and raise up their arms, to the jeering and booing crowd.
Who runs this by Kingspade begins to play. Tek and Nic Daniels come out to the entrance ramp. They begin to walk down the ramp, pointing and staring daggers at The GLS. There is a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Zach Davis: The Society looks like they mean business.
The crowd goes wild as "It's time for war" by LLCOOLJ begins playing and The Dangerous One, Dangerous Don DeBeers steps out from behind the curtain. The ladies in the audience go wild and head for the barriers to just be able to touch him as he passes by. Suddenly there is a loud explosion and a spotlight shines on the curtains as Chesty LaRue steps out in a Bikini top and a pair of blue jean cut offs so short they left nothing to the imagination. She runs down the ramp and jumps into The Dangerous Ones arms. He hoists her onto his shoulder and makes his way to the ring. He places her inside the ring and then climbs over the ropes himself. He goes to each corner and throws on hand up in the air acknowledging the fans before being handed a microphone from the ring announcer.
Dangerous Don: First off, I would like to thank Seth Lerch for giving me this opportunity. It's always good when you get the chance to bust some heads and get paid for doing it! Now if everyone wants to know what I am about then watch closely and see what my partners for this match and myself do to those that come in here disrespecting what we live for! After tonight GLS is going to stand for, Gone Like the Sunset! Lets get it on Bitches!
Zach Davis: With the bell ringing and with both teams in the ring, this match is underway.
Shannan Lerch: WCF Senior Referee Stanley Moser is the official, for this match-up!!
Zach Davis: The two big men, Teck Draven at 375 pounds and Don DeBeers at 335 pounds, begin this match.
The two men stare at each other, as the Arena fills will uncomfortable tension. They charge each other. The two mammoths collide, nearly shaking the ring. DeBeers quickly strikes Draven. Then almost immediately Draven strikes back back, with an almost devastating right fist. Both men continue landing thunderous haymakers, until DeBeers pops Draven in the midsection with a back fist...
Shannan Lerch: What a massive dropkick by the 330 pounder!!
Draven quickly gets up, as DeBeers quickly kicks Draven in the gut and hits him with a swinging neckbreaker. Dangerous Don then grabs Teck Draven in a chin lock, on the mat. Stanley Moser is there to check to make sure there is not choking.
Zach Davis: The two big men sure have made a quick impact in this match.
Shannan Lerch: but, right now Dangerous Don DeBeers has the upper hand.
Draven tries to wiggle free but can't. So, slowly he stands up and....
Zach Davis: Teck Draven hits a side suplex on DeBeers.
Shannan Lerch: Instead of going for a tag, Draven picks up Dangerous Don...
Teck Draven hits DeBeers with a massive German suplex.
Zach Davis: Now, while having a grab of DeBeers, Draven tags in Leviathen.
Both men toss DeBeers into the ropes. They go for a double clothes, but DeBeers ducks and bounces off the ropes, at the other end, of the ring and flies towards Leviathan and Draven...
Shannan Lerch: Dangerous Don hits Leviathan and Teck Draven with a double clothesline, knocking men to the mat.
Don DeBeers takes this opportunity and rolls to his corner tags in Tek. Tek rolls out Draven and goes for an pin attempt on Leviathan. Stanley Moser quickly slides into position and begin the pin count....
Leviathan quickly stands up and Tek quickly chops, punches, and kick the big man. He grabs Leviathan and pulls him into his corner, as he pounds the big man with quick kicks and chops, as Nic Daniels holds him. That infuriates Deaven Benett and Teck Draven flies to the corner and clubs Tek on the back of the neck, knocking him down quickly.
Zach Davis: Uh-oh!! I think we have ourselves a rumble!!
That's when Nic Daniels and Don DeBeers enter the ruckus.
Shannan Lerch: You didn't possible believe that these two teams could possibly behave themselves and conduct themselves as professionals, did ya? These two teams are at war!! Their actions show and prove it!
Benett grabs Tek. Nic Daniels grabs Leviathan and Teck Draven
Zach Davis: Shannan, watch out!! There coming our way!!
Both big men fly towards the commentary table and crashes into and right over the desk, almost knocking down Zach and Shannan! Meanwhile, Deaven Benett nails Tek with a face to knee buster followed by and falling neckbreacker.
Zach Davis: DOUBLESHOT!!
Daniels grabs Leviathan and....
Shannan Lerch: SPINEBUSTER!!
Nic Daniels then grabs Leviathan, before the big man pops Daniels in the mouth, but Daniels retaliates and popping him in the mouth with a quick right hand. Then quickly right after the right hand, Daniels nails Leviathan with a Russian Leg Sweep.
Zach Davis: Stanley Moser has lost total control over this match!!
Nic Daniels grabs Leviathan, who tries to resist, but Daniels continues to pick up the big man and sets him up for The Verdict. Daniels double underhooks the arms of Leviathan and drops him, straight on the top of his head with a piledriver. Stanley Moser tries to separate everyone, but gets knocks down for his effort.
DING! DING! DING!!
Stanley Moser leans against the ropes and yells towards Kyle Steel.
Kyle Steel: WCF Senior referee Stanley Moser has declared this match a double disqualification.
The crowd boos.
Zach Davis: Well, that's it!! A double DQ!!
Shannan Lerch: That's not it, at all. Not by a long shot!!
Teck Draven and Dangerous Don DeBeers are fighting on the commentary table. The table collapses into several pieces!!!
Zach Davis: Right in front of us, Teck Draven just nailed Don DeBeers with the Tecknical Support chokeslam from Hell right through the damn commentary desk!!
Draven smiles down at DeBeers and flies into the ring. Daniels picks up Leviathan but is knocked down to the mat with a double fist, to the back of the head by Draven. Bennet tosses down Tek and sees Draven picking up Daniels and....
Shannan Lerch: Lights out!!
Deaven Bennet nails Nic Daniels with sweet chin music and Daniels gets tossed out of the ring. Bennet nad Leviathan pounds down on Tek, as Draven goes and gets two chairs.
Shannan Lerch: What are they gonna do with those two chairs?!
Zach Davis: I don't know Shannan! I just don't know.
Teck holds a steel chair in the closed position, but standing up while Leviathan holds the throat and head of Tek over the top of the chair. As they hold Tek....
Shannan Lerch: NO! GOD, NO!!!
Zach Davis: NO!! NO!! NO!!
Deaven Benett quickly swings down another chair to the back of the head of Tek!
Shannan Lerch: OH MY GOD!! I think they almost decapitated Tek!!
Until... ERIC PRICE returns!
Zach Davis: ERIC PRICE!
Eric Price slides into the ring and attacks Deaven Benett, but the other GLS members slide out and pull Deaven Benett out with him. Eric Price stands tall before he checks on Tek along with the WCF officials.
Shannan Lerch: Sounds like one more man has joined the battle against the GLS!
The sound of a chainsaw being pull started reverberates through the arena, as The Lumberjack starts.
Shannan Lerch: Looks like we are in for a surprise here Zach, we haven't seen Buzzsaw in a few... What the hell is he wearing?
Zach Davis: It looks like a Ninja Turtle costume, complete with toy swords...
With the start of the lyrics Buzzsaw walks out, pausing on the stage to raise a pair of katanas.
Shannan Lerch: No, those are real swords Zach, they just look like toys in his massive hands...
As the crowd looks on in a confused manor, he makes his way to the ring. Sliding into the ring without the agility he normally possesses, Buzzsaw stands and pops the crowd.
Zach Davis: What is he up to, it's not even close to Halloween...
Buzzsaw slams on of the katanas down into the middle of the mat, and calls for a microphone.
Shannan Lerch: I don't know Zach, but his eyes don't look right...
Zach Davis: I still want to know how he found a turtle shell that big...
As the crowd dies down a bit, and his music cuts off, Buzzsaw raises the mic to his mouth.
Buzzsaw Bundy: WCF!!!
The crowd pops at this, and he continues.
Buzzsaw Bundy: So I was sitting in the back watching Payback and it hit me. There is a distinct lack of dominant big men in this company. Everyone is either too old, or some young buck like myself looking for that brass ring to grab to take us to the top. The problem is, there is no brass ring.
In this company you have to take what you want, whether or not your a good guy, or some badass prick. Now, there are some other big men in the company back there. Just like the sword I stuck into the middle of the ring there, they look good, and seem to be of the highest quality. Unfortunately for them, looks aren't everything...
Buzzsaw holds up the one in his hand, it's not as fancy looking as the other one, but still has the lethality.
Buzzsaw Bundy: Now take this one here. Forged by hand over three hundred years ago of the finest Japanese steel. It took a master swordsmith three months to complete, and is his finest blade. Now, it may not look as nice and polished as the one there, but this blade is a far superior model, fashioned with skill, and patience.
With an easy smooth swing, Buzzsaw brings the sword he's holding into the other one, breaking it in the process, and sending the hilt into the announce table where it clangs onto the floor.
Zach Davis: Aiiiiiieeeee!!!
Shannan Lerch: Zach, you pussy...
Buzzsaw Bundy: Just like that the lesser model falters and fails. Now, the men in the back are like that junk there, they look good, and can function surprisingly well. That is until they come into conflict with the real deal.
Buzzsaw removes the costume he has on, and stands now in his jeans and shirt, his muscular body appearing as if chisled out of solid granite.
Buzzsaw Bundy: Now, enough of this silliness. Since the guys in booking fail to find me something, I needed to get everyone's attention for this... I'm sending out a challenge to the 'big men' in the back. You think you are the top dog? Then step up and prove it. Next week on Slam, I'm going to begin my journey to the top of the mountain, and become the most dominant big man this business has ever seen. It's time to take these pretenders to the woodshed and cut them down to size.
Buzzsaw drops the mic and climbs out of the ring. Grabbing the intact katana, he makes his way towards the back.
Shannan Lerch: Well, looks like the lumberjack is back, and he's just made a statement.
Zach Davis: Do you think anyone will accept his challenge?
Shannan Lerch: I guess we'll find out next Sunday...
Zach Davis: Time for our People's Title Match!
Red and black strobe lights begin flashing, as the electronic beat of "Ghosts N Stuff" by deadmau5 begins blast eardrums, when Mr. FPV emerges from the curtains to a round of applause from the crowd. He runs down the ramp, giving fans highfives along the way before leaping under the bottom rope into the ring.FPV climbs to one of the turnbuckles and fistbumps to the music. Many fans join him. He does this with all of the other turnbuckles before moving to the center of the ring in a lotus position.
Shannan Lerch: Regardless of the outcome of tonight's match, Mr. FPV has ANOTHER Title match coming to him. And according to my brother, it won't be against Gravedigger.
Zach Davis: Oh?
Shannan Lerch: Yeah, he's gonna force Mr. FPV to use the Title shot he won against the US Champ, D-Day.
Zach Davis: Interesting.
"Ladies and Gentleman" by Saliva blares throughout the arena as Alex Bankmanship strolls out to the top of the rampway. He looks into the crowd with that smug look on his face. He holds up his briefcase, opens it up a little bit to show off some of his money. He quickly shuts up and smirks. He then climbs into the ring and poses on the turnbuckle with the briefcase in his hand. He jumps back down and places the briefcase in his corner.
"Run This Town" by Jay Z blares over the P.A. speaker as Gage Gannon comes sauntering out on stage with his shades on taking a look at the crowd. Gage looks around and takes his shades off as he ignores the boos of the crowd and walks down the ramp smirking his cocky smile. Gage slides into the ring and goes to the opposite turnbuckle and raises his hands out to the side.
The lights flicker on and off and Fabolous' Lights Out plays over the speakers to a loud chorus of boo's. Logan walks directly from behind the curtain and to the ramp. He looks out at the crowd to the left and then to the right and then throws his arms into the air while a display of fireworks explode behind him in yellow color. Logan looks out at the crowd in disgust as he walks down the ramp and rolls into the ring. He stands up on the middle rope and 'flenches' at the crowd as if he's going to beat all of their ass. The vicious Truth turns his focus onto his opponent as his song fades out.
Shannan Lerch: Where is Switches?
The lights drop as "Run Rabbit Run" by Rob Zombie begins over the P.A. system.
Zach Davis: Uh oh...
"Huntin' Humans? Ain't nuthin but nuthin'.They all run like scared little rabbits.Run rabbit run. RUN RABBIT RUN!" The aggressive drums kick in and Greenfever emerges from the darkness. His face and hands are smeared with blood. The crowd is incited into a screaming mob. The audience begins to throwing garbage down at him as he makes his way to the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Switches isn't here tonight and it looks as if Greenfever has taken his place!
Greenfever slides in and the bell sounds. Gage Gannon immediately attacks him, kicking at the maniac. Chris Avery goes after Mr. FPV, leaving Alex Bankmanship to stand back and watch his opponents.
Zach Davis: The five man match concept is interesting because there will either always be double teaming or there will always be one man out.
Gannon stomps on Greenfever before Greenfever slowly works his way up. Greenfever blocks a strike and then kicks Gannon in the gut and hits a Gutwrench Spinning Sitdown Crucifix Powerbomb!
Shannan Lerch: What a move!
Into the pin. One... two.. no, Bankmanship kicks Greenfever off. Bankmanship picks Greenfever up and brings him back down with a Twist of Fate! Bankmanship kicks Gannon out of the ring before he begins kicking Greenfever.
Zach Davis: For those of you a little confused, this is the best I can figure it: Dr. Heill imprinted Switches the Clown with the Greenfever mind... I didn't think it was possible, but we're seeing it with our own eyes once again..
Shannan Lerch: Did Dr. Heill imprint Logan with the mind of Chris Avery? That would explain a lot.
Zach Davis: You know, Shannan, that may be a good question.
Indeed, Chris Avery/Logan is now stomping away at Mr. FPV. Avery lets FPV get to his feet before hitting him with a forearm and executing a mean Snap Suplex. FPV stumbles up and rests against the turnbuckle, and Avery runs at him and hits a Stinger Splash!
Shannan Lerch: Shades of Sting, sending his whole body into FPV.
Avery backs up and runs at FPV again, but this time FPV gets out of the way. Avery crashes into the turnbuckle and FPV grabs him from behind, spins him around and throws him to the ropes. Avery comes back and FPV hits him with a Double Knee Gutbuster. But as FPV gets up he's met with a Spear from Gage Gannon!
Zach Davis: Welp, Gannon's back in!
Gannon then turns to Greenfever, and Spears him down too! Bankmanship is up and he eats a Spear from Gannon next!
Shannan Lerch: Spearapalooza!
Avery has stumbled to his feet and Gage runs at him with a Spear, but Avery sidesteps it, sending Gage's shoulder into the turnbuckle. Avery grabs Gannon with a Half Nelson and then turns it into a Facebuster!
Zach Davis: Lots of big moves getting hit right off the bat!
Avery falls on top of Gannon, pinning him.
No, Gannon kicks out.
Shannan Lerch: Not quite yet!
Avery stomps Gannon a few times before before picking him up and hitting a Flatliner..
Zach Davis: Going for the Chi Town Collab!
However, FPV is back up and he grabs Avery out of nowhere and hits a Brainbustahhh!
Zach Davis: OOF!
FPV quickly pins Avery, hooking the leg!
Shannan Lerch: So close!
Bankmanship rolls FPV up from behind!
Bankmanship begins to get up but Gannon runs at him and punts him in the head!
Zach Davis: OOF, again!
Bankmanship rolls out of the ring, eyes glazing over. Gannon goes to pick Avery up but FPV grabs Gannon now, throwing him to the ropes. FPV then runs at Gannon and Clotheslines him against it. FPV follows that up by grabbing Gannon's head and then positioning himself on the second rope... and hits an impactful DDT.
Shannan Lerch: This one could be it!
No! FPV kicks out!
Zach Davis: Close!
Greenfever is back in the ring now but he has a lead pipe! He hits FPV in the back of the head with it, and the ref immediately calls for the bell.
Shannan Lerch: ..what!?
Zach Davis: A disqualification!? But... who is the Champion? Who won?
The fans are booing heavily, and the referee hears them. They're chanting "BULLSHIT" and whatnot. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he whispers something into Kyle's ear.
Kyle Steel: Due to the fact that this is indeed a People's Title match, and the People have spoken... the ref has reversed his call and this match will continue!
Big pop this time. Greenfever smiles and turns towards Avery, still holding his lead pipe, and now knowing he can get away with it. Greenfever runs at Avery and goes to hit him in the head but Avery sidesteps him and kicks him in the gut, sending the pipe flying.
Shannan Lerch: Good call by the ref, I'd say. The people have spoken!
Zach Davis: And luckily, Avery has gotten that pipe away from Greenfever..
Avery is yelling something at Greenfever about being a freak with a mental illness.
Shannan Lerch: Mmm, delicious irony.
Avery pulls Greenfever in and positions him for the Lie Detector!...
Zach Davis: I really can't wait to see him hit this move.
But Bankmanship nails Avery with a Superkick out of nowhere before he can hit it!
Shannan Lerch: The Bank Roll!
Avery tumbles outside of the ring. Bankmanship turns around and is met with an RKO from Gage Gannon!
Zach Davis: GKO!
And as Gage stands up, he's met with a red mist spray from Greenfever! Gage claws at his face and tumbles out of the ring as well. Greenfever locks Bankmanship in the Move That You Fear.
Shannan Lerch: Uh oh.. this has got to be it, all three other competitors are outside of the ring!...
Indeed, Bankmanship is forced to submit. The bell sounds and the ref awards Greenfever the belt.
Zach Davis: Well there you have it, Greenfever wins. This is goddamn bizarre.
Shannan Lerch: Now, who is Champion? Greenfever, or Switches the Clown?
Zach Davis: I don't know, Shannan, I don't know..
Run Rabbit Run plays once more as Greenfever takes the belt. He slides out and begins heading to the back.
Shannan Lerch: I pity whoever is in charge of the recordbooks for this one..
We’re outside in the parking lot when a red Jaguar XK drives by us and parks two spaces down from a door leading into the Wells Fargo Arena. We walk over to the car and emerging from the driver’s door is Jonny Fly. Fly smiles at the camera, reaches back into the car to pull out his duffel bag, and then begins making his way toward the door. As Fly gets to the door Hank Brown comes rushing out of the building.
Hank Brown: Holy shit…Jonny Fly! You’re here!
Jonny Fly: Is there something I can do for you, Hank?
Hank Brown: Well, you’ve been missing all week! Nobody even knew if you were alive, much less if you were going to be here. Now..here you are!
Jonny Fly: You thought I was dead? That’s just ridiculous. What would make you think that?
Hank Brown: Well, weren’t you kidnapped? We have a video…..
Fly smiles and then sets his hand on Hank’s shoulder causing him to stop mid-sentence.
Jonny Fly: I’m not going to answer your question, Hank. I am going to guarantee you one thing, though. If I was kidnapped…those who did it…they’re all dead. All of them.
Hank’s face turns white. He mutters a few sounds in response but isn’t able to form any words. Fly pats Hank on the back and keeps moving for the door talking as he walks..
Jonny Fly: You’ll have to excuse me now, Hank, it’s time to go win match number ten.
The scene cuts away as Fly enters the building.
“Hit ‘Em Up” by Lil Wayne starts playing on the speakers and the crowd starts booing on cue. The lights dim and spotlights span back and forth all over the arena. They finally come to rest on the top of the entrance ramp and out from the back steps Chester, followed by Gravedigger. Seth Lerch steps out from behind Gravedigger and starts taunting the crowd. The curtains are parted and out steps Adrian, towering over the other three men and the crowd’s boos grow in intensity. Fireworks and pyro begin going off as the members of MS-13 stand confidently with Seth still taunting the crowd.
Shannan Lerch: Looks like they improved upon their entrance.
Zach Davis: Coming out as a force like this makes them even more imposing than their separate entrances. I still can’t get over seeing Gravedigger and Seth willingly on the same side, coming to the ring together.
Shannan Lerch: I think nearly everyone familiar with WCF history is thinking the same thing, Zach.
MS-13 and Seth start walking down the ramp. Seth tries to slap hands with a few fans despite being booed. The occasional fan decides to slap Seth in the face instead and he staggers back and forth a couple of times. Adrian reaches out and holds him back from attacking fans. The four men finally get to the bottom of the ramp. Gravedigger, Chester, and Seth take the steps and enter the ring one at a time while Adrian goes around to the side and stands there. Seth gets up on a turnbuckle and taunts the crowd.
Anatomy by The Devil Wears Prada is blasted through the arena as Seth, Chester and Gravedigger climb out of the ring. After the intro of the song is finished, the pyro starts blasting out everywhere in the arena. The ramps, the stage, the ring, titantron, everything in the arena. Coming out from backstage is Joel Hall. The crowd starts to cheer for his arrival. He walks down the ramp and jumps on the canvas. Then, he rolls into the ring and looks at the crowd. He gives the devil horns sign.
Seth Lerch is on the outside talking trash to Joel Hall who leans over the ropes begging him to come into the ring.
The lights in the stadium dim to pitch black and Bulletproof by 12 Stones blares in the speakers with lights swinging around the stadium lighting up the darkness from the dimmed lights. In cue with the music, pyros of red, white and blue go off when the sound of BANG!!! from Bulletproof. The pyros continue to go off on cue with the word being said. After the third pyro goes off the lights focus on the entrance of the stage where Donald Deruty is standing with his head tilted down. He falls to his knees and throws his hands up in the air where a final set of multi-colored pyros is fired.
At the signal of the final pyros the dimmed lights turn back on and light the whole stadium with red, white, and blue lights. D-Day jumps to his feet as soon as the lights are back on. He takes his time walking down the ramp, as he gives high fives and shakes the hands of the fans. Once he reaches ringside he slowly walks up to the steel steps where he goes one step at a time until he reaches the ropes where he enters the ring with a swaggery hop to his walk. Instead of looking towards the titantron like usual, he turns and smirks at the members of MS-13 which sets the three men off as they threaten to enter the ring.
Shannan Lerch: There’s a lot of anger and hatred going to go on in this match.
The lights go out. Oblivion by Mastodon begins to play, as the thunderous combination of the guitars, bass, and drums explode through the arena's speakers.
I flew beyond the sun before it was time
Falling from grace cause I've been away too long
Now I'm lost in Oblivion.
Kyle Steel: Weighing in at 305 pounds, from the deepest, darkest part of a sick man's psyche...... O-O-O-OBLI-I-IVI-I-I-I-O-O-O-O-NN-N-NN-N!!!
There are a mixture of cheers and boos, more cheers than boos. The crowd stands onto their feet and rush towards the security railings. Oblivion slowly slinks out to the entrance stage, low to the ground. The Wells Fargo Arena explodes with cheers and some boos. Oblivion has it's arms extended outward, with it's index fingers pointing out. The Vixen are nearly undressed, as they come slithering out and walks next to Oblivion. The Vixen are dressed with bra-like bikini tops, with very short skirts. They have glitter plastered everywhere. Their makeup is smeared, but maintained to be very attractive. The guitar solo begins, lazers flash throughout the arena. Thunder-like sounds rattle the arena, as lighting strike-like sounds shake the foundation of The Wells Fargo Arena. The music continues to thrash as The Vixen are divided in two groups. As, one group are twirling around with the insanity of the music, while the other group, of The Vixen are thrashing with the music. Their energy has the Coliseum going completely crazy!
Oblivion slowly stands up, with it's arms extended outward, spins around. Oblivion, The Vixen, and The Gathering get to ringside. As IT pops IT's neck, Oblivion holds IT's arms outward. The Vixen rub their hands all over Oblivion's well sculpted abdominal muscles. A couple of girls begin to french kiss. The Gathering continues to slink around, tormenting the crowd, nearby. Oblivion proceeds to slide under the ring ropes and is walking over to a corner. The half naked women slide into the ring, in various sexual manners. Oblivion climbs up to the second turnbuckle and is raising IT's arms to an mostly cheering crowd. Oblivion jumps down and walks over to the center of the ring. The Gathering slithers away under the ring, with blood on their hands. Several thousand cameras flash throughout the arena, as Oblivion strikes a muscular pose, with The Vixen rubbing all over Oblivion. All of the women, of The Vixen, begin to kiss. The Gathering peak, from under the ring, as they begin to snarl and bark, while white foam drips out of their mouths.
NOW I'M LOST IN OBLIVION!!!
The Vixen and Gathering start to panic and flee the ring as Gravedigger, Chester, and Seth Lerch quickly enter the ring and the lights come back up. All six men meet in the ring and start talking trash to each other as the referee gets between the two groups telling them this is an official 6-man tag match. D-Day, Oblivion and Joel aren’t paying attention as Adrian has walked around the ring and he reaches up, pulling himself up onto the apron and steps over the top rope into the ring behind them.
Adrian yells out, catching their attention as they half turn towards him and keep their eye on their opponents for the match. Adrian towers over everyone in the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Someone get him out of there, he has no business even at ringside!
The referee pushes D-Day and Joel out of the way and starts yelling at Adrian to leave the ring. Adrian looks down at him and slaps a meaty hand around the referee’s neck, hoists him up and drops him with a huge chokeslam at the feet of Oblivion and D-Day. He grins at the two of them. Seth quickly gestures towards the back and a second referee starts running out from the back.
Zach Davis: Well, looks like we’re on our second referee before this match even starts.
D-Day and Oblivion glance at each other quickly and then at Adrian and as if reading each other’s minds, they step forward and double clothesline Adrian before he can react. He flips over the top rope and crashes to the mat outside. Gravedigger charges across the ring and clotheslines Oblivion from behind, causing him to flip over the ropes as well. Gravedigger jumps between the ropes to the outside and goes to work on Oblivion.
Chester runs at D-Day towards the corner, but D-Day is too quick for him and ducks, dumping Chester over the ropes to the outside. D-Day climbs out of the ring after him. That leaves Joel and Seth Lerch as the only ones in the ring. They look at each other and the crowd starts cheering them on as they both start trading lefts and rights as the second referee slides into the ring and signals for the bell to start the match. He immediately starts trying to get the other participants back in the ring.
Being the actual trained wrestler of the two, Joel quickly gets the upperhand on Seth and drops him with a picture perfect DDT that has Seth balancing on the top of his head before hitting the mat. Seth gets back up anyway and is floored with a clothesline. A couple of seconds later he’s up again and Joel hits a beautiful dropkick to the face of WCF Corporate. Not giving him time to breathe, Joel bounces back up, runs across the ring, bounces off and hits a dropkick to Seth who has just sat back up, but isn’t any longer.
Joel quickly goes for the cover and the referee turns back as the other 4 men in this match get back to their corners.
1…kick out. Even that flurry of feet to the face isn’t enough to put down the owner of the company. Joel starts to pick Seth up off of the mat, but Seth pokes him in the eye and rolls him up in a small package.
Not even a one count is registered as Joel kicks out before the referee even completes his mat slapping slide maneuver thing. Seth demands that the referee count faster. The referee demands that Seth get some wrestling training. Adrian demands that someone smells his finger as it has a weird odor.
Joel starts to come after Seth again but Seth holds his hand up, gesturing for him to wait. He holds his hands up in a test of strength. Joel obliges and the two lock hands. After a few seconds of struggling by both competitors, Joel starts getting the upper hand. He puts his head under Seth’s arm and suplexes him with their hands still locked. Seth hits the mat hard and Joel is back up. Joel lays a couple of boots to Seth’s midsection and tags in D-Day. The crowd pops as the American Hero enters the ring.
Seth is up on his knees and starts shaking his head, asking D-Day to back off. He offers him a world title match which D-Day turns down. He offers him a world title match where the champion is handcuffed. D-Day once more turns him down and so Seth pulls out the big guns and offers him a world title match where the referee starts at two every time D-Day covers his opponent. Before D-Day can respond, Seth slaps D-Day across the face and rolls over to his corner and tags Gravedigger. Gravedigger gives Seth an “are you serious” look before climbing into the ring. The slap to the face enrages D-Day and he pounces on Gravedigger, hitting him with right fists. Gravedigger isn’t ready and can’t really counter the blows.
Gravedigger is sent across the ring in an irish whip. Gravedigger wisely grabs onto the ropes as he sees D-Day going for a dropkick. D-Day misses and hits the mat hard, but bounces up and goes right back down to a clothesline from Gravedigger. Gravedigger picks up D-Day and whips him across the ring and catches him in a big sidewalk slam. D-Day is helped up by Gravedigger who grabs him by the head and drops him with a neckbreaker. Gravedigger jumps on D-Day before he can do anything and applies a standard headlock.
D-Day tries to get out of it but Gravedigger just wrenches against his attempts and keeps him pinned to the mat with his larger frame. The crowd starts rallying behind Gravedigger and soon D-Day gathers enough momentum to start hitting Gravedigger with a few elbows as he gets to his knees. He finally shoves Gravedigger off and into the ropes on the opposite side. Gravedigger charges back with a head of steam and spears D-Day to the mat hard.
Shannan Lerch: Oh wow, he nearly cut D-Day in half!!
The crowd boos as Gravedigger grins at D-Day lying on the mat in pain. Gravedigger walks over and tags in Chester. Gravedigger points to the nearby turnbuckle as the referee tries to get Gravedigger to leave. The former tag team of Exodus goes old school as Gravedigger picks D-Day up and holds his arm out. Chester leaps off the second turnbuckle and lands a big arm on D-Day’s. Chester immediately grabs his arm and wrenches it behind his own back as Gravedigger climbs back out onto the apron. Chester body slams D-Day as Oblivion looks on, wanting to get in the ring badly. Chester climbs the nearby turnbuckle again and leaps off hitting a huge elbow drop on the downed D-Day. Chester goes for the cover.
1…2…Oblivion is in and breaks up the count. Gravedigger starts to climb in but the referee warns both men to their corners. Chester picks up D-Day and puts him back down with a suplex. Chester bounces off the nearby ropes real quick and nails D-Day with a leg drop. Chester gets cocky and taunts the crowd as he slowly helps D-Day back up once again. Chester whips D-Day across the ring and bends over for a back body drop, but D-Day drops short and nails Chester with a huge uppercut that staggers him back in shock.
D-Day takes advantage of the situation and hits a Dead and Forgotten out of nowhere. Chester is still moving some and the beating so far has taken enough out of him that D-Day forgoes the cover and instead goes for a tag on Oblivion. However, before the referee can stop him, Gravedigger is in the ring, runs up behind D-Day who is about to tag Oblivion and he grabs him and tosses him back over his head with a huge german suplex. The crowd boos as Oblivion jumps into the ring and both men start trading rights and lefts.
The referee starts trying to pull the two apart and Adrian takes the opportunity to slide into the ring real quick, grabs Chester and pulls him back towards his own corner and the crowd boos more as the referee finally regains control and Adrian is back outside the ring. Joel Hall tries to tell the referee what happened, but Seth just shrugs, acting oblivious, when the referee looks at him.
Zach Davis: Oh come on! We need another referee out here with MS-13 at ringside.
Chester gets up and tags in Gravedigger. Gravedigger climbs into the ring and holds onto the ropes while stomping away viciously at the fallen D-Day. The crowd rallies behind D-Day as Gravedigger whips him across the ring and sets him up and drops him with a Respecto!
Zach Davis: OH NO! That could be it!
Gravedigger is pissed off as D-Day kicked out of the move and the crowd gets even louder chanting D-Day’s name over and over. Gravedigger picks him up and goes for a right which D-Day blocks and returns one of his own. Gravedigger goes for a second right, but D-Day blocks it again and delivers another one of his own. Gravedigger fails a third time and D-Day knocks him to the mat. Gravedigger is up and D-Day clotheslines Gravedigger to the mat one time and then again before DDTing him to the mat. Both men lay on the mat and the crowd yells out for D-Day to make the tag to Oblivion. He crawls over and Gravedigger follows him trying to stop him from doing so.
Right before D-Day was going to be stopped by Gravedigger, he dives and makes the tag to Oblivion. The crowd roars as loud as Oblivion does as he quickly enters the ring. Gravedigger backpedals and tags in Chester, who was barely prepared. Chester enters in and both members of MS-13 go after Oblivion. Oblivion ducks underneath their arms, bounces off the ropes and puts both men to the ground with a double clothesline to a huge pop from the crowd. Gravedigger rolls out of the ring, leaving Oblivion angry. Oblivion turns that anger towards Chester and starts pummeling him in the corner and then turns the beatdown into boots as he relentlessly pummels Gravedigger’s brother in the corner.
Oblivion steps back a couple of steps and stalks Chester who slowly gets up. Oblivion grabs Chester and hits him with a slingshot suplex. He bounces off the nearby ropes as Chester gets up again and puts him back down once more with a bulldog. Oblivion pummels Chester some more, occasionally looking over at Gravedigger, taunting him to come in.
Adrian, tired of what’s going on, decides to reinsert himself back in the match. He climbs in behind Oblivion, grabs him by the shoulders, spins him around. Adrian kicks him in the gut and powerbombs him to the mat. The referee goes to signal for the DQ but Adrian catches him and chokeslams another referee!!
Seth facepalms in his corner and holds his hand out signaling for a third referee. This one walks down to the ring but won’t enter until Adrian leaves the ring. Chester’s had enough time to get over to the corner and tags in Gravedigger who has no problem entering after Adrian’s attack. Gravedigger suplexes Oblivion. Gravedigger walks over to the nearby turnbuckle and stands on it, perched, watching Oblivion. Satisfied that he’s not moving anytime soon. Gravedigger stands up and leaps off going for the Death From Above. Oblivion was playing possum and rolls out of the way, causing Gravedigger to crash to the mat. Oblivion irish whips Gravedigger across the ring and hits him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that makes the fans cheer. Gravedigger’s abdomen is hurting from the missed frog splash and his back is hurting from the back breaker. Oblivion hits Gravedigger with a dragon suplex.
1…2…Gravedigger kicks out!
Gravedigger slowly gets back up, a little groggy. Oblivion steps behind him and puts him in The Straight Jacket! Unfortunately, Gravedigger is close enough to the turnbuckle that he rams Oblivion into it a couple of times until he lets go. Gravedigger runs at Oblivion, who steps out of the way, sending Gravedigger crashing into the turnbuckle. Oblivion catches him as he staggers back and puts him in the Soul Taker. Gravedigger is laid out. Oblivion decides to tag D-Day back in. D-Day gets back in and immediately covers Gravedigger.
D-Day grabs Gravedigger and hits him with the Dead and Forgotten. He goes for the pin but is too close to the ropes as Chester hops down from the apron and pulls D-Day out by his feet. Chester and D-Day start hitting each other back and forth and Chester finally tosses D-Day back into the ring. Gravedigger tags Seth Lerch and the crowd is wanting Joel Hall back in to duke it out with Seth.
Shannan Lerch: Careful, Seth...
Seth comes in, smiling cockily. He meets Joel in the center of the ring and the two begin trading blows!
Zach Davis: Ha! I don't believe it! Seth and Hall, going at it!
Of course, Joel Hall gets the upper hand, sending Seth reeling. Seth responds by poking him in the eyes, however, stopping that momentum, and then giving him a stiff kick to the balls.
Shannan Lerch: GET HIM, SETH!
Zach Davis: Oh brother..
Hall goes down and Seth pins him, hooking the leg!
Hall manages to kick out!
Shannan Lerch: NO!
Seth picks Hall up and positions him for his Crucifix Powerbomb, but Hall reverses it with a Back Bodydrop. Seth hits the mat hard and stumbles up before Hall hits him with an STO!
Shannan Lerch: NNOO!
Hall climbs to the top rope... he flies off with a Corkscrew Backflip!
Zach Davis: DOLOR EXTREMO!
He pins Seth, hooking his leg!
Gravedigger enters the ring but Oblivion intercepts him!
Shannan Lerch: NNNOOO!!!
Zach Davis: Joel Hall pins Seth Lerch!
Joel Hall's music plays and he slides out after getting his arm raised. Gravedigger and Oblivion are brawling with one another, but Chester runs and attacks Oblivion from behind. Adrian enters the ring next and grabs Oblivion by the throat.
Shannan Lerch: Get him!
...Adrian hits Oblivion with a Chokeslam! All three MS-13 members stomp on the former Hardcore Champion.
Zach Davis: When have you ever seen Oblivion get manhandled like this!? Wow..
D-Day slides into the ring, sending MS-13 reeling. Chester, Adrian, Gravedigger and Seth all back up the ramp, grinning at the carnage they've caused.
Kyle Steel: The following contest is set for one fall and is for the Television Championship. Introducing first, the challenger. . .
“Not Without A Fight” by Pillar hits the speakers, and Roy Speede steps out onstage, followed by Abbie Grande, a smile on his face as the fans cheer loudly. Wearing his customary ring gear and his vest, the hood over his head, he pauses atop the ramp holding his arms out horizontally, his hands in fists as Abbie walks past him in her pink dress and the crowd chants.
Crowd: SPEEDE! SPEEDE! SPEEDE!
He drops his pose as he begins toward the ring, Abbie now at his side.
Kyle Steel: Introducing, accompanied by Abbie Grande, he is from Richmond, Virginia, ROY SPEEEEEEEDE!
As he proceeds down the ramp, Roy high-fives the fans on either side of the slope, Abbie giving high-fives to the fans opposite him, and as he approaches the ring, Roy continues around to the ring steps as Abbie circles around the ring toward the announce table. He pauses for a moment, throwing the hood off his head as he steps up the steps, and continues out onto the ring apron. Again he pauses, this time pointing out into the audience as a tribute to the fans that made his career before stepping into between the top and middle ropes into the ring. From there, he crosses to the far turnbuckle, climbing to the second rung before pointing out to the fans in attendance, and doing his signature arms spread pose. He hops down off the turnbuckle and removes his vest, tossing it into the audience, giving one lucky fan a souvenir before leaning against the second turnbuckle, waiting for the match to begin.
Kyle Steel: And his opponent, the Television champion. . .
The lights in the arena go out. Blackness is all that prevails around as the crowd anxiously stirs. After a few seconds, blue strobes emerge on the stage zooming around in no particular pattern. The strobes center themselves onto the stage, overlapping themselves and illuminating the silhouette of a man.
“The Champ” by Ghostface Killah begins playing and the crowd begins to boo. The lights flicker on and off in conjunction with pyros shooting upward. The lights turn on fully and Jonny Fly is seen standing of the stage. Fly smirks at the crowd's reaction and begins walking down the ramp.
Zach Davis: After being kidnapped by his enemies, will Fly be a hundred percent in his match?
Shannan Lerch: Or will Roy Speede beat Fly when so many others have not?
The ref for that evening holds up the belt, and then hands it off for the match to begin. Which does begin with a point to the bell ringer.
DING DING DING
And with the final bell, the two men launch at each other, locking up in a test of strength, which Fly wins after a slight struggle. He lands a few European Uppercuts to stun Speede, before shooting the ropes and rebounding with a flying clothesline. But Speede ducks under, and shoots the ropes himself. Fly turns around to find Speede coming at him in turn with a dropkick. But the champs dodges the technique also.
Zach Davis: Both men not trying to get hit.
But this little cat and mouse ceases when he delivers a back kick into Roy's stomach. Doubled over, Speede can't do anything but take the move, which happens to be a a double underhook piledrive into a pin.
Roy isn't out yet as he breaks free of the pin and kicks Fly in the head. Rising to his feet, Speede hits a half nelson suplex to take the champ down, but he doesn't stop here, as he picks him back up and takes him back down with a Fisherman Buster for a pin of his own.
Shannan Lerch: Both men are not giving up.
It is Fly's turn to break free of the pin. Speede pulls him up and tries to lock in a Full Nelson. But Fly breaks free, and delivers a standing dropkick. Speede is stunned but not down, so Fly lifts Roy up and drops him with a brainbuster. But instead of the pin, Fly looks to go flying as he scales the top rope.
Zach Davis: Fly is looking for his Swatter.
And find it Fly does as he launches off the top rope with it just as Speede rises to his feet. Roy falls, and Fly pins him, nodding his head along with the count.
Shannan Lerch: Jonny Fly has once more retained his Title!
Zach Davis: What can stop this man?
Fly stands up and grabs his Title back from the referee, grinning ear to ear. He raises his arm in victory before sliding out of the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Great showing by Roy Speede, but
Logan/Chris Avery is walking backstage, clutching his head in pain after the match earlier tonight. Suddenly, Seth comes running up to him.
Seth Lerch: Logan! Logan!
Avery turns to Seth, annoyed.
Chris Avery: I told you.. I'm not Logan! I hate that honky son of a bitch.
Seth Lerch: Erm... okay. Look, Avery-
Chris Avery: And speakin of honkys, I don't really feel like talking to you, either. In fact, Seth Lerch, I'm tired of getting held down by you! You're The Man, Seth, and everyone knows that The Man is always tryin' to hold the black man down.
Seth Lerch: ...please, listen to me. Logan, you're in there, somewhere. I think I know what happened to you. I think that goddamn Dr. Heill must've done to you what he did to Switches the Clown... I can't quite explain it but it is the only thing that makes sense...
Chris Avery: Switches, Greenfever, whoever that freak is... its just another honky thats f*cked up in the head! Probably shot a school or two up in his day. Who ever heard of two minds in one body?
Seth looks at Avery, raising an eyebrow.
Seth Lerch: I know you won't believe me, Logan... but I'll prove it. I'm going to get you help, I'm going to figure this out, I'm going to get to the bottom of this and find out what Dr. Heill did to you... I promise.
Seth walks away, leaving Avery/Logan confused.
Zach Davis: Hey Shannan, are you ready for the Tag Titles match?
Shannan Lerch: Jeff Purse is so damn sexy.
Zach Davis: So is Reb!
Shannan Lerch: What??
Zach Davis: Oh, did I say that out loud?
“Renegade” by Styx begins to play over the PA system as Johnny Reb and Doc Henry step out onto the stage.
Shannan Lerch: Here comes the New Confederacy!
Zach Davis: Reb and Henry are possibly the greatest tag-team in the history of the WCF. No matter what is ever going on between them, they are always tough.
Reb and Henry pose on the stage as images of their past matches play on the Jumbotron. Both men begin making their way down the ramp to ringside. Doc mounts the ring steps in a dignified manner while Reb jumps onto the apron and enters the ring through the ropes. Both men take a moment to pose for the fans as they await their opponents.
The sound of roaring motorcycles is heard over the PA system as pyrotechnics explode down the entrance ramp. ‘It’s Time for War’ by LL Cool J begins to play and Night Rider emerges from the back holding his Tag Team Title in the air. Angel Frye emerges from behind him and leads the way down to ringside. Nightrider pauses at the end of the ramp and awaits his partner.
Zach Davis: There is Night Rider, one half of the Tag Team Champions.
Shannan Lerch: Night Rider has been solid since he debuted, but both he and Purse will need to be at their very best tonight.
“Won't Back Down" by Eminem blares on the PA system. On the right side of the stage there is a bike ramp that extends just about to the middle of the Titantron. Atop the bike ramp is Jeff Purse. He is sitting on his bike, looking out upon the audience. He throws one had in the air as the audience cheers.
"You can sound the alarm
At this he sets off down the ramp. Directly across is another ramp on the left side of the stage, which Purse heads for.
"Cadillac Sevilles, Coupe Devilles
Purse flies up the other ramp, launching off of it. He pulls off a small back flip, rides down the rest of the ramp, and comes to a screeching halt in the center of the stage. He gets off, kickstands it. He looks out, smiles, and throws his arms in the air. Red and Blue pyros explode behind him
"I cut my toes off and step on the receipt before I foot the bill
He starts off down the ramp as Kari joins him, giving him the tag title, slapping five with fans, walking very casually but at a quick pace. He puts the title over his shoulder. When he gets to the ring he jumps up on the apron and quickly makes his way in through the middle rope, while Kari walks around the outside, pumping up the crowd. Night Rider joins Jeff inside the ring as Purse stands in the center, "air guns" a corner, pyros shoot out of it. He subsequently does that for every other corner, pyros of red and white shooting out every time.
The bell rings to start the match and Night Rider and Johnny Reb exit the ring to stand on the apron.
Shannan Lerch: It looks like Purse and Henry will be starting this one off!
Jeff Purse and Doc Henry lock-up in the center of the ring. Purse immediately drops his shoulders under Doc’s grasp and delivers a weak spinebuster, just enough to get Henry off of his feet. Purse immediately goes grabs Henry’s leg and puts him in an ankle lock!
Zach Davis: Purse going for the submission early!
Doc immediately wiggles out of the hold and gets back to his feet. He yells something at Jeff Purse and then pushes him violently backward.
Shannan Lerch: Doc not real happy with that stunt to say the least.
Doc quickly approaches Purse, grabs him by the arm and whips him across the ring with all his might. Purse runs headfirst into the turnbuckle and falls backwards to the mat. Doc kneels down and uses Purse’s own move, the ankle lock, on him.
Zach Davis: Now it’s Doc’s turn!
Henry tightens the hold as much as can and Purse begins to scream out in pain. Night Rider enters the ring and begins running toward Henry. Reb quickly scrambles through the ropes to cut him off but he’s too late; Night Rider tackles Henry breaking the hold.
Shannan Lerch: Great save by Night Ride, Purse was in trouble!
Henry bangs his hands on the mat, gets to his feet and turns his attention toward Johnny Reb, staring him down.
Zach Davis: Doc doesn’t look too happy with his partner right now.
Henry walks toward Reb and violently slaps his chest. Henry then proceeds past Reb, and exits the ring through the ropes. Instead of taking up a spot on the apron, Henry drops to ringside and begins walking back up the ramp.
Shannan Lerch: Wait a second, is Doc Henry leaving??
Zach Davis: Did that even count as a tag?
Henry continues up the ramp and disappears behind the curtain without ever looking back at the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Doc’s gone! He’s abandoned Johnny Reb!
Zach Davis: Somehow Reb now has to find a way to beat the Tag-Team champs by himself.
In the ring a gimpy Jeff Purse blindsides Johnny Reb, whose attention is on Henry by clubbing him in the back. Purse grabs Reb’s head and sends him down to the mat with a DDT. Purse quickly scrambles back to his feet and runs over to the bottom rope, bounces backwards off it, flips in the air, and executes a beautiful moonsault onto Reb. Purse gets up and begins celebrating. He strolls over to Night Rider and tags him into the match.
Zach Davis: Here comes Night Rider for the first time in the contest.
Shannan Lerch: He’s got it easy, Purse did all the damage.
Night Rider walks over to Reb, grabs him, and picks him up to his feet. Night Rider walks Reb over to the turnbuckle and sets him on top. Night Rider climbs to the second rope, wraps his arm around Reb, and then jumps backward hitting Johnny Reb with a HUGE suplex.
Zach Davis: Night Rider going for the cover…
Zach Davis: …and Johnny Reb kicks out after two.
Shannan Lerch: No surprise there, Zach. Despite not having Doc, Reb won’t go down easily.
Night Rider gets back to his feet and brings Reb up with him. Night Rider locks in a Full Nelson hold on Reb and begins delivering hard chops to his midsection. Night Rider keeps the hold locked in just long enough to land several more chops before releasing it. Johnny Reb promptly falls to the ground.
Night Rider grabs Reb by the hair and moves him toward the corner where his teammate Jeff Purse is standing. Rider throws Reb in the corner and uses his boot to begin choking him against the ring post. The referee breaks the hold and Night Rider promptly tags in Jeff Purse.
Zach Davis: Reb is in a world of trouble here.
Shannan Lerch: He’s got to get out of that corner and find a way to get some momentum.
Purse jumps into the ring and immediately starts hammering away at Reb’s forehead. As Purse cocks back to punch again, Reb rolls out of the way and Purse’s fist goes straight into the ring post. Purse jumps up and down in pain looking down at his hand. Reb slowly rises to his feet as the referee walks over to inspect Purse’s hand. Noticing the referee is distracted Night Rider climbs to the top of the turnbuckle, jumps off, and sends Johnny Reb back down to the mat with a missile drop kick.
Zach Davis: Cheaters!
Noticing what has happened; Purse pushes the referee away, runs over for the quick cover.
Shannan Lerch: Purse trying to capitalize here!
KICKOUT by Reb.
Zach Davis: Well, Reb is still alive, but for how much longer?
Purse gets up and brings Reb to his feet. Purse tries to set Johnny Reb up for a neckbreaker, but Reb is able to push him away and then deliver a shoulder block. Purse stumbles backwards against the ropes, bounces himself off looking for a clothesline….but Reb ducks out of the way and Purse goes flying against the opposite ropes. As Purse bounces back Reb hits a drop toe hold taking Purse to the ground and quickly follows it with a Boston Crab.
Shannan Lerch: Reb with the Boston Crab!
Reb is using all of his might to get Purse to quickly tap.
Zach Davis: Purse is in trouble!
Jeff Purse screams out in pain and Night Rider promptly enters the ring. The referee gets in front of him to try to stop him but Night Rider throws him out of the way, picks Reb up and sends him down to the mat with a sidewalk slam.
Zach Davis: Cheaters!....again!
Shannan Lerch: No matter how you feel about their methods, Night Rider and Purse work well together.
Jeff Purse slowly gets to his feet. Night Rider exits the ring but Purse walks over and legally tags him in. Reb has raised himself to a knee and Night Rider immediately picks him up onto his feet. Night Rider wraps his arms around Reb and hits him with a belly-to-belly suplex. Night Rider gets right back to his feet and once gain raises Reb up. Night Rider whips Reb against the ropes but as Reb bounces back he nails Night Rider with a flying clothesline!
Shannan Lerch: Johnny Reb showing some life!
Reb quickly jumps back to his feet, runs over to the corner, and hops onto the top rope. Reb jumps off and hits Night Rider with the Confederate Cannonball! Reb quickly goes for the cover.
Jeff Purse enters the ring.
Purse pulls Reb off of Night Rider.
Zach Davis: Cheaters!
Shannan Lerch: Wait, look at this!
Doc Henry has emerged from the back. He runs down to ringside and slides into the ring.
Zach Davis: Clearly, Doc has seen enough!
Henry converges on Purse.....says something.....and then sticks out his hand.
Shannan Lerch: WHAT?!
Purse grasps Henry's hand, smiles, and both men make their way to adjacent corners of the ring. Both men climb to the top rope. In the ring Night Rider has come to, and stands Johnny Reb up. Purse and Henry jump at the same time off their turnbuckles and hit Reb with a double missile-drop kick. Before falling, Night Rider catches Johnny Reb and drives his face into the mat with a modified 'Drop of Death.'
Zach Davis: My god, they just destroyed Johnny Reb.
Night Rider hooks the leg for the pin.
Shannan Lerch: This one has to be over.
Doc Henry walks over to the ropes, slides through them, and uses the ring steps to descend down to ringside.
Henry begins walking back up the ramp, once again never looking back before disappearing behind the curtain.
Zach Davis: Night Rider and Jeff Purse retain, with some help by Doc Henry!
Shannan Lerch: At this point I can't help but ask; is this the end for The New Confederacy?
Purse helps Night Rider to his feet and both men celebrate inside of the ring as they are handed their Tag Team titles.
Zach Davis: I don't understand! Doc Henry... I thought he wanted those Tag Team Titles!... I... what happened?
Zach Davis: And the time is finally here Shannan. We've had an amazing show so far, non stop action at every turn. And it's all led up to this.
Shannan Lerch: Main Event Time Zach?
Zach Davis: Main Event Time Zach indeed. Corey Black. WCF Legend. Hall Of Famer. Multiple titles held. Current WCF World Champion. He's done it all Shannan, but as anyone who knows anything about WCF history knows, it's the title defenses that are his kryptonite.
Shannan Lerch: That's true Zach, but you're forgetting one thing about Black, and that's his love of shutting down the new up and comers in WCF. He's openly declared his love of "jobber killing", as he calls it, and despite his success thus far, Corey Black views Nathan Von Liebert as just another rookie.
Zach Davis: And that is where I see Black's downfall coming from tonight. Nathan Von Liebert may still be a relative newcomer here in WCF, but no one can discredit the things he's done. One of the fastest rising stars in recent history. Winner of the One Invitational. The guy has done nothing but win since first coming through the doors. Shannan, tonight I think we might just see the next stage in the evolution of WCF.
The camera pans to the titantron, where an oak door comes into view. A thump is heard, and the door shakes on its hinges. Several more thumps occur, until the blade of an ax busts through the door. Smoke begins to form on the stage, as a dark figure steps out. Suddenly a woman voice yells out from the speaker.
"No, go away!
Leave me alone!"
Smoke billows down the aisle as the man walks down it to the ring, his identity shrouded in the smog. Meanwhile, on the titantron, the ax makes a large hole in the wood, and a hand reaches in for the door knob, the fingernails painted black. Again the frightened voice rings out as the mystery man slides into the ring.
"Don't you come in here!
I don't want you here!"
The mystery man watches the titantron now, as the door opens, and the same man standing in the ring, steps into the house. A lightning bolt cracks behind him, equal in volume to the string of fireworks that fire up on the ramp. The man on the titantron rubs his thumb on the door, leaving a bloody smear on the polished oak. He lifts the ax with both hands, as the voice pleads.
"No, No, No, NO!!
The scream is cut off as the man swings the ax. Blood appears to splatter across the tron, and then the name "Nathan von Liebert" is written with a finger painted black. Nathan, who is in the ring, falls on his knees, never taking his eyes off the 'tron until it goes black. He then scans the members of the crowd that he could without contorting his torso.
Zach Davis: And there he is, Nathan Von Liebert. I know we just touched on it Shannan, but the ride this guy has been on is nothing short of spectacular. Barely into his WCF Career, he went into One as a participant in the One Invitational and took down the likes of Nightrider, Jeff Purse, Adam Young and D-Day en route to winning the tournament and this World Title shot. Couple that with everything else he's done and Shannan, you're looking at the Future Of WCF.
The lights in the venue suddenly cut to black as the familiar opening to "For Whom the Bell Tolls" plays. The crowd is jacked up and gets louder after every toll. After six tolls, there is silence. A solitary light hits the stage. Out from the back walk six men. These are big dudes, too. Vikings to be exact. Three stand on each side of the entrance. They're all carrying shields and swords, long hair, beards, legit looking vikings. "Locust" by Machine Head hits the PA system and the place explodes into cheers. The lights flash to the music as it chugs along. As soon as the lyrics kick in, Corey Black emerges from the back wearing the WCF World Title. He's decked out in viking garb as well. Armor, shield, sword, and even a viking helm with face plate. Colorful lights now circle the night sky and through the crowd. CD marches down to the ring, all six vikings behind him in two single file lines. The crowd is going ba-fucking-nanas. As he reaches the ring, CD places his shield against the ring, and his sword by the steps. Corey then drops the viking armor and furs off his body, and takes off the horned helm. CD rolls into the ring itself and sits in the far corner, waiting for the match to begin. As he does, the six vikings walk up and remain on the stage for the duration of the match.
Shannan Lerch: I still feel like you're selling Corey Black short Zach. The man is the World Champion for a reason. There isn't anything in WCF that this man hasn't accomplished. I mean, the guy has his own PPV! I'm not trying to sell Nathan short by any means, as you said he is the Future of WCF, but I don't think he's quite ready yet. I feel like tonight is Corey's night to get the proverbial monkey off his back and retain the World Title.
Zach Davis: Well the time for talk is over Shannan. Let's get it on.
Senior Referee Stanley Moser performs his routine check for weapons and gives out his final instructions for both competitors before stepping back as Kyle Steel walks out to the center of the ring.
Kyle Steel: Ladies and gentlemen, the following match is the Main Event of the evening and it is for the WCF Heavyweight Championship of the Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld!
Huge pop from the crowd.
Kyle Steel: Introducing first, to my left, this man weighed in this morning at two hundred twenty-nine and one-eighths pounds. He hails from Nightmare Realm via Queens, New York. He is the challenger....Nathan Von Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiebert!
Massive amount of heat from the crowd as Nathan raises his arms in the air.
Shannan Lerch: I've heard a crowd boo many, many times Zach, but I can never get over how loud the crowds in Philly get. The match hasn't even started yet and the roof might blow off.
Kyle Steel: And to my right, this man weighed in this morning at two hundred and three pounds. He hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the current WCF World Champion...Corrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrey Black!
The crowd explodes with cheers as a completely focused Black barely acknowledges them from atop his perch in the corner. Referee Moser steps forward as Kyle exits the ring, and motions for both competitors to step to the center of the ring. He motions for the title belt, which Black hands over, and then holds it up for everyone to see. He then walks over to the ropes, hands the title off to a ringside official and then calls for the bell.
DING DING DING!
Nathan and Black stand their ground, eying each other up as neither makes the first move. The crowd noise draws to a near hush in anticipation.
Zach Davis: You could cut the tension in the room with a knife.
Nathan finally makes the first move as he offers to tie-up. Black obliges. The two fight for control and eventually Black is able to apply a headlock. But it only lasts for a few seconds as Nathan is able to back himself into the corner. The referee starts his count and Black releases at three. Black steps of the corner long enough for Nathan to get out of the corner and then he goes to tie-up. Black again obliges and this time is able to apply an arm wrench. Black torques the arm and then delivers a kick to the midsection. Black then whips Nathan into the nearby corner. Black tries for a running splash but Nathan moves out of the way and Black crashes chest first.
Shannan Lerch: Oh, I bet that didn't feel good at all.
Nathan runs and delivers a forearm to Black's back that pushes him back into the corner. Nathan now with a series of stomps to the back of Black's knees that all but cause the champion to collapse.
Zach Davis: And just like that the challenger has turned the tables.
Nathan pulls Black out of the corner and goes to set him up for a full nelson suplex. Black blocks it and executes a snapmare. Black then hits a stiff kick to the chest that sucks the air right out of Nathan. Black with the early pin attempt.
And Nathan quickly kicks out. Black doesn't let up on the offense as he goes for the reverse chinlock. But Nathan isn't a slouch when it comes to submissions and it shows as he contorts himself and is able to wrap his legs around Black's head in a neck scissors.
Shannan Lerch: I can't believe my eyes. How is Nathan able to do that with his legs?
Zach Davis: The same way y...*sigh* sometimes you just make it to easy Shannan.
Eventually the holds get to be enough for both men and they simultaneously release them and roll away from each other. Both men spring up to their feet and again meet up in the center of the ring. Black goes for the tie-up but Nathan's having known of it and ducks Black's outstretched arms. Nathan with a stiff kick to the back of the knees that drops Black down to one knee. Nathan runs, hits the ropes and comes back with a dropkick to Black's face. Nathan now with a pin attempt.
And Black is quick to kick out. Nathan gets up to his feet. Black tries to get up but Nathan hits a forearm across his back. Nathan now with the irish whip into the ropes. Black hits them and comes back. Nathan telegraphs the back body drop and Black leapfrogs over him. Nathan stands back upright and Black reaches back, grabs him by the head and drops him with a hangman's neckbreaker.
Zach Davis: Shades of Rick Rude.
Black now with the pin attempt.
And again Nathan kicks out before two. Black gets up to his feet and he graciously helps Nathan up via a handful of hair. The referee steps in and delivers a warning about the hair pulling. Black now with a series of stiff kicks that back Nathan into the corner. Black back out to the center of the ring and he runs at Nathan looking for a clothesline. Nathan sees it coming and ducks, lifting Black up and over the top rope and crashing to the floor. Nathan goes to exit the ring but the referee steps in and tells him to stay put. The referee now begins the ten count.
Nathan moves to the center of the ring and watches on as Black stirs on the floor.
Black's up to his feet.
Nathan runs full speed past the referee and dives through the ropes, taking Black down to the ground. Both men writhe in pain as the referee restarts his ten count.
Nathan's the first one up and he grabs Black by the back of the head before leading him toward the barricade. Nathan with a stiff kick to the gut and then he slams Black face first into the barricade.
Nathan now tries an irish whip toward the ring steps...BUT BLACK WITH THE REVERSAL! Black sends Nathan crashing into the steps with authority.
Black takes a moment to gather himself and then walks over to Nathan. He pulls him to his feet and then rolls him back into the ring before sliding in himself. Black then hooks the leg.
And Nathan gets the shoulder up.
Shannan Lerch: The action so far has easily lived up to my expectation Zach. Just back and forth since the bell rang.
Black rolls off of Nathan and pushes himself up to his feet. He then pulls Nathan to the center of the ring before applying a Dragon Sleeper.
Zach Davis: I must say I've been surprised to see Black using the technical training he received from Rick Mad so much during this match. Usually he's running all over the place and utilizing a more high flying offense.
Shannan Lerch: It's the smart thing to do Zach. When you go to the top rope, you're risking the match.
Nathan begins to push himself, arcing his back at an awkward angle as a surprised Black holds on. From out of nowhere Nathan gets free and is able to leap back with a pele kick. Black drops to the mat and Nathan smartly goes for the pin attempt.
Black gets the shoulder up and Nathan rolls off. Nathan's up. Black's now up, but appears a bit dazed from that last kick. Nathan ties up and gets Black in a hammerlock. Black with an elbow to the face and he reverses it into a hammerlock of his own. Nathan now with a reversal of his own, this time applying a rear waist lock. Nathan now switches to a full nelson and looks to hit the suplex. Black smartly blocks it but Nathan maintains the nelson hold. The referee checks with Black.
Senior Referee Stanley Moser: What's the word Black? You want to call it quits?
Creeping Death: No!
Black begins to push Nathan backward into the corner. They get there and the referee starts the count. He reaches four and Nathan finally releases...BEFORE NAILING A BIG FOREARM TO THE BACK OF BLACK'S HEAD! Black stumbles and Nathan grabs him before hitting a bridging german suplex.
And Black kicks out! Nathan rolls off and gets to his feet. He unloads with a few quick stomps to Black's midsection and then eyes up the nearby corner. He heads for it and begins to climb up. With Nathan's back turned to him, Black begins to stir and rolls over onto his stomach. When Nathan reaches the top rope he stands up...AND BLACK SPRINGS UP TO HIS FEET AND HITS THE ROPES! Nathan drops crotch first onto the turnbuckle and lets out a scream of pain.
Zach Davis: Ohh, that's never good.
Black then makes his way over to the corner and climbs up. He pulls back his fist and let's loose with a shot to the head. He hits another, and then another as the crowd counts along.
The Crowd: THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE!
Black winds up and goes to deliver the tenth punch when Nathan quickly blocks it and responds with a punch of his own. Nathan with a second shot to the face and Black loses his balance and falls to the mat. He's quick to pop back up to his feet but Nathan leaps off with a diving crossbody. Nathan with the pin attempt.
No! Black again kicks out! Nathan rolls off and shoots the referee a look as he pushes himself to his feet. The referee holds up two fingers to indicate the count. Nathan shakes his head and then turns his attention back to Black. Nathan puts his left foot across the throat and then begins to balance himself, putting his full weight on the throat.
Shannan Lerch: The Choker!
Black begins to thrash about under Nathan's boot as the referee moves in and begins a count.
Senior Referee Stanley Moser: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FI-
Nathan steps off before the five count but damage has clearly been done as Black is rolling on the mat coughing and holding his throat. The referee moves in to check on him but Nathan gets there first and pulls Black to his feet. Nathan spins him around and pulls him in for a reverse suplex.
Zach Davis: He's going for the Straight Jacket Drop! This is it for Black!
Nathan lifts him up...AND BLACK COUNTERS FROM OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A HEADSCISSORS TAKEDOWN! Nathan goes rolling across the ring as Black drops to his knees, still coughing and holding onto his throat.
Shannan Lerch: Black able to counter what surely would have been the move to end this match and even I don't know how he did it Zach. Veteran Instinct? Ring Presence?
Zach Davis: Whatever you want to call it Shannan, it was just luck.
Nathan's the first to get back to an upright position, followed by Black. Black tries for a tie-up but Nathan responds with a forearm to the face. Nathan with a few more forearms and Black is dazed. Black starts to fall forward when Nathan grabs him and snaps off a suplex. Nathan now with the chinlock, trying to wear down the champion even more.
Zach Davis: Smart move by Nathan here. He knows he's been having trouble keeping Black down long enough for the three count, so he's trying to suck as much energy out of him as he can.
Shannan Lerch: It's a sound strategy Zach. I saw the look in Black's eyes a moment ago and he looks completely out of it.
The crowd begins to get behind Black, clapping and urging him to fight back. The claps grow louder and louder until they reach a near deafening level.
Zach Davis: And this crowd has come alive once again Shannan!
Black begins to stir and using the fan's energy to drive him, he's able to push himself to his feet. Black now with a big elbow to the gut. The hold is broken and Black tries for a desperation clothesline. Nathan however ducks it. Black spins around and eats a dropkick that sends him stumbling into the corner. Nathan runs and leaps, nailing a huge clothesline and crushing Black against the corner. Nathan now climbing up the corner and he grabs Black by the head.
Zach Davis: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE!
Nathan looks out at the crowd who refused to count along and winds up for punch number ten. Suddenly, without warning, Black gets his arms around Nathan's legs and gets out of the corner before dropping him an inverted atomic drop. Nathan grabs hold of the affected area and Black snaps off a superkick to the jaw. Nathan drops to the mat like a sack of potatoes. Black's still up on wobbily legs, a bit of blood on his forehead, for a few seconds before he drops to the mat out of exhaustion. The referee takes a look at both competitors and then begins his ten count.
1! 2! 3!
Black is the first to stir as he rolls himself onto his side and begins to crawl toward the ropes.
Nathan is now moving as he tries to sit up. Black is now at the ropes and trying to pull himself upright.
Black is up on his feet and Nathan's to his knees.
And Nathan gets himself up the rest of the way. The two eye each other up and Black weakly motions for Nathan to bring it. Nathan obliges and runs and tackles Black to the mat. The two begin trading punches until they both eventually roll under the bottom rope and onto the floor. As the two get to their feet and resume their brawl, the referee begins the count.
Nathan nails a perfect european uppercut that sends Black stumbling. He then grabs hold of Black and rams him back first into the barricade.
With Black up against the barricade, Nathan begins to lay into his chest with a series of chops.
Black is able to block one and throws Nathan up against the barricade. Black now with some chops of his own.
The Crowd: Wooooooo!
The Crowd: Wooooooo!
The Crowd: Wooooooo!
Black then pulls Nathan away from the barricade and gets ready to shoot him into the ring post. Nathan reverses it at the last second and Black crashes shoulder first.
Black is still upright and Nathan runs up behind him before grabbing his head and hitting a bulldog onto the floor.
Zach Davis: Nathan seems to be back in control of this match but he can't win the title outside the ring. He needs to get Black back in the ring and soon!
Nathan hears the count reach seven and pulls Black back up to his feet. He rolls him in under the bottom rope and then slides in after him. Nathan quickly hooks the leg for the pin attempt.
NO! Black gets the shoulder up just before the three count! Nathan rolls off, a look of disgust on his face.
Shannan Lerch: Both of these men have taken so much abuse throughout this match, but I have to wonder how much more Corey can take.
Zach Davis: He has defiantly been giving it his all thus far Shannan.
Nathan is up and he gets into the referee's face, arguing with the count. The referee holds up two fingers as Nathan tells him to do his job right. Nathan then turns his attention back to Black and goes to pull him back up to his feet. But Black was playing possum as Nathan was arguing the count and he quickly rolls him up for the pin attempt.
Nathan is quick to kick out at two. Both men get back up to their feet and Nathan tries to tie-up. Black responds with a boot to the gut followed up by a Snad Cutter out of nowhere. The crowd is going ape shit as Black gets back up to his feet. Nathan is stirring as Black pulls him to his feet and hoists him onto his shoulders. Black looks out at the crowd and then hits a Burning Hammer. Black now hooks the leg.
"Locust" by Machine Head hits the speakers as the referee helps Black to his feet and raises his arm up.
Shannan Lerch: HE DID IT! COREY BLACK RETAINS THE WCF WORLD TITLE!
Zach Davis: I'll give credit where credit is due. Corey Black just proved to the world that he can in fact hold onto the title.
Pyro goes off from all four of the corners as confetti and streamers rain down on the ring from the ceiling. The referee brings the WCF World Title over to Black, who takes it over to the corner and climbs up the turnbuckles before hoisting it over his head. The crowd is going nuts as Payback fades out to black.
