An unusually large amount of pyro goes off, and Slam is once again on the air! The Philadelphia fans roar even more than usual. We go to our announcers for the evening and as always, Zach and Shannan.
Zach Davis: I can barely hear myself over these fans, but welcome to Slam! This is the 200th installment of one of the longest running wrestling shows in e-fed history!
Shannan Lerch: E-fed history? What do you mean, Zach-
Zach Davis: Anyway, we're a week removed from One and a few short days away from XIII! Where should I even begin?
Shannan Lerch: Well, how about with our new World Champion?
Zach Davis: That's right! Corey Black has somehow overcome the monster known as Odin Balfore and once again established himself as THE man to beat in WCF.
Shannan Lerch: What a match that was, Zach, what a match. One of the best I've ever seen, except for who the winner happened to be.
Zach Davis: Black got his "One moment," and it couldn't have come at a better time. He'll be the World Champion on the 200th episode of Slam, of course, and XIII is right around the corner.
Shannan Lerch: For that show, he's booked just one match. A War Games match.
Zach Davis: Both he and Odin picked teams, and we got... I can barely believe these teams... Corey Black, Jay Price, D-Day, and Greenfever up against Odin Balfore, Gravedigger, Jonny Fly, and Gage Gannon.
Shannan Lerch: Very bizarre, Zach. Very bizarre. Corey Black and Jay Price on the same team? Greenfever back from the dead? And Odin Balfore picking complete unknown Gage Gannon to be on his team? Can't wait.
Zach Davis: Moving on to tonight, Jonny Fly will be in action. He's facing Switches the Clown in our main event, in a TV Title match.
Shannan Lerch: He was able to defeat Kaylyn James Evans last week in a very hard fought matchup.
Zach Davis: The Tag Team Titles are back!, assuming we don't get another DQ in the match. The Redneck Express, Nightrider and Jeff Purse, and Mr. FPV and Roy Speede all compete for the belts.
Shannan Lerch: Very interesting dynamics at work here. Nightrider and Purse are familiar with each other, and in fact were opponents last week, only to be beaten by their common enemy, Nathan von Liebert. And Mr. FPV and Roy Speede were the Tag Champions before the belts got vacated.
Zach Davis: Speaking of Nathan von Liebert, the winner of the One Invitational has requested a match with newcomer Yukon Jack. von Liebert was able to go through three, well four actually, men at One to win his tournament, eventually beating former World Champion D-Day... he'll be a difficult man to beat.
Shannan Lerch: Speaking of D-Day, he was assaulted in the beginning of the tournament by the returning Chester. It is unclear whether Chester is actually a member of MS-13 or not, as Adrian himself seemed surprised by the attack. So tonight Day and Chester will be settling their differences in the ring.
Zach Davis: And in our opener, we have a four way between Joel Hall, Gage Gannon, Amanda Mosby and Tek. Let's start the show!
“ With Oden On Our Side” hit’s the PA system as the fans stand and cheer.
Shannan Lerch: So we’re gonna be graced by the disgrace of a former world champion?
Zach Davis: Well after ONE and the announcement of XIII, I bet Odin has a lot to say.
Odin walks down to the ring with out his familiar title on his shoulder, climbs into the ring and grabs a mic.
Odin Balfore: I came out here tonight to address a couple of things. Yes I lost to Corey Broken at ONE but it took the combined efforts of four men to make sure that I didn’t leave without that title. It took Jay Price coming into my match to knock out Torture, letting the match run a muck and Seth not calling for the bell, allowing all this to continue and honestly I can go on and on but that would be complaining. That. Would. Be.. The WCF frame of mind. They’ll blame everybody but themselves.. The fact I lost to Corey Black because WCF is afraid of me, they’re still afraid of me. Corey Black is still afraid of me. I want to send a message though to him.. Enjoy that title as much as you can because I’ll be getting it back sooner rather then later. You can be your little XIII in the way with your hard on for war games matches. You can call it what you will but D-Day and Jay Price certainly aren’t going to protect you from me.
Lets check out my team, shall we? Team Bad Motha fucka where I nothing but the baddest of them in WCF. Lets starts with Grave Digger. From word going around it seems like Corey knew that I grave digger sided with me, that itd be all over and it is. With GD on my side- its one-sided and that’s the way it needs to be. Its needs to be one sided so that Corey and Seth know that I’m not going to fade out with out that title an I’m going to come at them even harder- so I went and got one of the most respected guys in WCF history.
That brings us to Johnny Fly. I gotta tell ya. I’m Impressed. I was looking at this guy, then I was wasn’t, I was weighing my options then I heard that he said I need him on my team and he’s right. But I don’t just need him, I want him because he represents what I’m trying to do in WCF- pave the way for newer, younger talent to ensure that this company thrives when Green fever and Jay Price decide to up and die again. When D-ay decides to throw a fit because he couldn’t buy a win over me. When, Corey black gets power bombed out of WCF again.. Johnny Fly will be there to not only take your spots but to ruin them incase you ever decide to return- this place wont ever be the same.
Then I had a dilemma. I had Rick Madd but then I had offered a spot to Gage Gannon as an alternate and with great enthusiasm did he accept so I made a decision, one that I’m glad that I made because you all know what Rick Madd can do.. You don’t know what gage can do. I know what he can do, I’ve worked with him before. So if you guys arnt worried about Gage, you damn well should be.. Because I know I would be
After XIII, trust me when I tell you that WCF will never be the same again. Last time I promised you that, look what happened. Now prepare yourselves for Odin Balfore to shake things up again and not only take control of WCF back but my title as well .
Zach Davis: What does Odin know that we don’t about Gage Gannon?
Shannan Lerch: I don’t know but I’m interested.
Odin drops the mic as his theme picks up and he makes his way back up the ramp.
Zach Davis: All I can say is that XIII is gonna be insane!
Kyle Steel: The following match is a four way for one fall. Introducing first...
Pandora by Parkway Drive is blasted through the arena. Coming out from backstage is Joel Hall. He walks down the ramp and jumps on the canvas.
Shannan Lerch: Here comes the once masked, now unmasked Jole Hall
Zach Davis: Oh...fun.
Then, Joel rolls into the ring and looks at the crowd. He gives the devil horns sign
Kyle Steel: From Des Moines, Iowa, weighing in at 224lbs, JOEL HALL!!!...And his opponent...
"Run This Town" by Jay Z blares over the P.A. speaker as Gage Gannon comes sauntering out on stage with his shades on taking a look at the crowd. Gage looks around and takes his shades off as he ignores the boos of the crowd and walks down the ramp smirking his cocky smile. Gage slides into the ring and goes to the opposite turnbuckle and raises his hands out to the side.
Kyle Steel: From Miami, Florida. He weighs in at 225lbs, "The Mecca" GAGE GANNON!!!...and their opponent...
The opening drums of "Discipline" by Nine Inch Nails start up as the lights go down and the blue and neon green strobes illuminate the fog that begins pouring in. A quick flash of white stobe momentarily blinds all vision for a brief moment and once it clears Amanda is standing in front of the curtain, arms raised wide with middle fingers extended and head tilted back as if in defiance to the world in general. After a few seconds she confidently stalks down to the ring, randomly pointing at nearby members of the crowd and making various decidedly unladylike gestures.
Reaching the ring, Amanda takes her time mounting the stairs.
I need my role in this
Stepping between the top and middle ropes, she slowly turns as she crosses the ring to climb the opposite post as the chorus kicks in to taunt the crowd before doing a backflip from the second turnbuckle at the last line.
I need your discipline
Kyle Steel: From Brooklyn, New York, she is, AMANDA MOSBY!!!...and the final competitor...
Lights go out in the arena and then Hollywood Undead's Tear It up play and the camera goes to the stage there is a figure standing there. They put a spot light to the figure stands and it shows a man wearing long black basketball shorts and wearing a black pair of DC shoes and wearing a black and white LA dodger hat with a water bottle in hand. This man comes walking down the ramp as he drinks from the water bottle and bopping his head to the song.
Kyle Steel: From Stockton, California, the weight of this competitor is 165lbs, TEK "THE LEGEND THRILLER"!!!
Zach Davis: More like the crowd Killer.
Shannan Lerch: Not nice.
All the competitors stand in their respective corners waiting for the match to begin. The ref signals for the bell..
Which starts the match off. Each competitor comes out of thier corners, not sure who to go after first...each of them watching the other and circling, no one trying to let the upper hand slip. Tek turns and focuses in on Amanda Mosbys..."assests". She takes this as the advantage and kicks him in the gut, leaving Gage Gannon to run after and clothesline Joel Hall to the ground.
Shannan Lerch: And Amanda using her attributes to begin this match.
Zach Davis: Huh? Sorry I wasn't listening.
Shannan Lerch: You are such a guy.
Amanda takes Tek to the ground with a spear, and turns to face the others. Gage Gannon is stomping on Joel Hall on the ground, he doesn't notice Amanda Mosby, at least until she puts him through the ropes and on the ground with a with a springboard dropkick in the chest.
Zach Davis: And Mosby is on fire here tonight.
Shannan Lerch: She sure is! Girl Power!
Zach Davis: Settle down now, settle down.
Mosby hits the ropes, and running toward the downed Joel Hall, Tek comes up from behind her and grabs her hair, pulling her to the ground. She smacks the mat hard, as Tek picks her up, kicks her in the gut and hits a DDT. He gets to his feet, only to be met with a flying dropkick to the back of the head by the hardcore high flyer, Joel Hall. Tek goes through the middle rope and out on the ground, falling onto Gage Gannon, knocking him back down.
Shannan Lerch: Joel Hall using Tek as a weapon here.
Zach Davis: And Gage is not having a good first match here at WCF, spending most of his time on the floor.
Joel Hall pulls Mosby up and whips her into the ropes, as she comes back, he sets her up for a hip toss, but she blocks, it, hits Hall in the midsection, and gives him a hip toss of her own. She hits the ropes and comes down hard for a leg drop on Hall, hits the ropes again and delivers a second leg drop. Meanwhile, Gage Gannon is up, and has Tek on the barricade, throwing lefts and rights. Mosby sees this, hits the ropes and starts to head for the two outside.
Shannan Lerch: This could be big Zach.
Zach Davis: Could've been big you mean.
And just as Zach said, could've been. Joel Hall kipped up during Mosbys set up, and hit her with a spinnig heel kick, using a lot of her own momentum against her. He capitalizes, keeping the momentum going he launches himself up to the top rope, and in true luchador fashion, comes down on Amanda Mosby with a Corkscrew Backflip.
Zach Davis: AND THERE IT IS! XTREME FEAR!
Shannan Lerch: Here comes The Mecca.
Joel Hall doesn't even get a chance to pin Mosby, as he is pulled off of her by Gage Gannon. He picks Hall up...and GKO!
Shannan Lerch: And now Gage is in the drivers seat!
Zach Davis: Not for long.
And this is true as Tek has made his way back in the ring runs up and delivers the TLT to Gage.
Shannan Lerch: Wow, wait, Mosby is up.
Zach Davis: And here we go
She runs up to Tek, and using her momentum from the run, she grabs him and sets him up, and hits the Skullbuster, and manages to bridge it for a pin. The ref gets down to count...
Zach Davis: And there is Joel Hall pulling Mosby off of Tek.
Shannan Lerch: That was an incredible moment there, Zach. Finisher after finisher after finisher.
Zach Davis: I agree.
Joel Hall pulls Amanda Mosby up, hits the ropes and nails her with a hurricanrana. She goes down. She gets back to her feet and Hall lifts her up in a Suplex position.
Shannan Lerch: He calls that the Zombie, he's going for a finisher, which variation will it be?
But an all too familiar man wearing an El Mideo Extremo mask slides into the ring, punching Hall right in the face!
Zach Davis: What the?
Shannan Lerch: Ha!
The man slides out before the ref can see. First, he takes off the brass knuckles he was wearing. And secondly, he takes off the El Mideo Extremo mask.
Zach Davis: Oh for crying out loud..
Shannan Lerch: Seth!
Indeed, it was Seth Lerch, and he's smirking.
Gage then picks up Hall, and tosses him out of the ring. Seth throws down the El Mideo Extremo mask on Hall and walks off.
Zach Davis: You know, Joel Hall has been openly critisizing Seth Lerch his management, but this sure isn't the right way for Seth to react..
Tek comes up from behind Gage, and grabs him, but Gage is smarter then that, he picks his foot up, and while the ref is tending to Mosby, hits Tek where the sun doesn't shine. Tek rolls out of the ring, holding himself in pain. Gage then grabs Mosby and hits his GKO!
Shannan Lerch: GKO, this could be it.
He grabs the ref's attention, and he pins Mosby.
DING DING DING
The ref raises Gages hand in victory.
Shannan Lerch: What a victory for Gage Gannon, and I have to say welcome to WCF!
Zach Davis: Everyone fought hard, but Gage came out on top.
Kyle Steel: Here is your winner, The Mecca GAGE GANNON!
Gages music hits the PA as he stands middle of the ring, both arms in the air.
Beep. Beep. Beep. The continuous sound dwells within the arena. Beep. Beep. Beep. The jumbotron springs to life and the audience’s attention is directed there. The source of the noise is revealed, a heart monitor relaying vital signs of Logan. He is melted to a hospital bed. The white bandages covering almost eighty percent of his body are stained with small spots of red. Beep. Beep. Beep. His knuckles are blue and swollen, and what lays underneath the white bandages is stitched fragile flesh ready to be torn back open by the slightest movement. Beep.. Beep.. Beep.
Samatha: It’sss time to wake up.
He opens his swollen eyelids and finds her bedside.
Words try to seep from his cracked jaw but they’re just too painful to form.
Samatha: Hus’ss’h. You just rest.. you resss’t.
She stroked his sweaty dried matted hair and he went back to sleep.
The lights go out and the sounds of “Changes” by the Deftones fills the arena. The spotlights hit the ramp and out from the back walks Gravedigger followed by his girlfriend JJ and the other member of MS-13, Adrian. Gravedigger is wearing a business suit and has the WCF Hardcore title resting on his shoulder as he walks down the ramp, boos raining down upon him.
Shannan Lerch: You can always expect the crowd to get riled up and start booing when this man comes out.
Zach Davis: Gravedigger is one of the most hated men in WCF history. I don’t think there’s really anyone else who can get a bigger reaction out of the crowd than this evil man.
Gravedigger walks up the ring steps and pulls the middle rope up while putting his foot down on the bottom rope. JJ steps through the hole Gravedigger makes. Adrian pulls himself up onto the apron after Gravedigger steps through the middle and top ropes. Adrian steps over the top rope and stands off to the side.
Gravedigger smirks out at the crowd and the simple look elicits an even louder amount of boos from the crowd in attendance. Gravedigger finally walks over to the side of the ring and takes a microphone from a ringside attendant. The music fades out and the lights come back out as Gravedigger lifts the mic.
Gravedigger: Well, well, well. Here we are, a week after One and here I still stand here the Hardcore champion. I have now had my first title defense and the doubters can put their doubts to rest since I have proven to be worthy of holding this belt.
Zach Davis: I won’t consider him worthy until Oblivion returns and he defends the title against him.
Gravedigger: Ryan Blake surprised me last week. He surprised me because he actually showed up and he actually put forth the effort to win the Hardcore title. I was also surprised at his reaction to losing. Word has it, he quit WCF. I guess you could say that Gravedigger ran him out of WCF and broke up The Alliance which was Ryan Blake and the now former world champion, Odin Balfore.
The crowd boos Gravedigger’s insistence that he broke up The Alliance.
Gravedigger: And the thing is, I did it by myself. I alone defeated Ryan Blake and I alone defended the Hardcore title. People like Corey Black said that I would need help, but I once again proved in the big matches, I need no interference from those watching my back.
Gravedigger turns to Adrian.
Gravedigger: Speaking of people watching my back. Adrian you lost to D-Day and I want to kn---
Gravedigger is cut off as “Dust” by Cypress Hill starts playing. Adrian and JJ immediately turn their attention to the entryway. Gravedigger just looks downwards with an annoyed look on his face at the interruption as Chester steps out from the back and stands on top of the ramp looking down at the ring.
Zach Davis: Gravedigger looks annoyed at the interruption, by his brother no less.
Shannan Lerch: Chester returned last week at One after Adrian lost to D-Day and he planted D-Day in the middle of the ring with the Dust Biter. He then threw up the MS-13 handsign at Adrian and told him to tell Gravedigger he was back. We’ve been wondering all week what that meant.
Chester walks down the ramp, his eyes glued on Gravedigger. He walks around the ring as his music continues playing. He walks over to the ringside attendants and takes a microphone. He then walks up to the ring and rolls in, standing up. Adrian walks over as if to block him from getting to Gravedigger, but Gravedigger holds his hand up telling him to stop. Chester looks up into Gravedigger’s face.
Gravedigger: Easy, Adrian, we might not know why Chester is here but he’s not stupid enough to attack me like this.
Chester grins as he lifts the mic.
Chester: You want to know why I’m here, Gravedigger?
Gravedigger stares at Chester for a couple of seconds before shrugging.
Chester: I’m here because I want to be a part of this. I want to be a member of MS-13.
Chester: Why not? I haven’t been a part of WCF for more than two years now. Last time I was here was when the Superfans beat me and you and you were kicked out of WCF. Yeah, I did come back when you won the world title as Hector Rodriguez and unmasked, but I haven’t been in the ring since that tag team match over two years ago.
I have been training for months now in case you were to return to WCF. I was about to just return here myself, but right about the time I was going to make my decision, you and Adrian unmasked and you brought MS-13 back to WCF.
Gravedigger shakes his head.
Gravedigger: I don’t know. Adrian and myself are doing just fine right now. We’ve only been ehre a couple of weeks and both the former and current world champion have laid at our feet, beaten down. I also took out the former hardcore champion and stole his title. I think we have things under control here.
Chester: But you know that the more numbers you have, the stronger you will be. You need me, Gravedigger. Look at what I did to D-Day last week. Someone you once duked it out with as Hector. Some people even believe that I cost him the One Invitational Tournament when I attacked him after his match.
Gravedigger starts thinking.
Gravedigger: You know what? Maybe you’re right about the numbers. It’s not always going to be just Adrian and myself against one or two other people. Eventually the WCF roster will get tired of us and start teaming up against us. And speaking of D-Day, you have a match with him tonight. I’ll tell you what. Chester, you win tonight, and I will seriously consider making you a member of MS-13.
Chester: Consider it done. I will prove myself tonight. I am MS-13 material and I will prove it.
Gravedigger, Adrian and JJ exit the ring and head over to ringside. They are handed a couple of folding chairs which they set up and sit down in, awaiting Chester’s match.
Shannan Lerch: And now to bring out the US Champion, D-Day!
The lights in the stadium dim to pitch black Bulletproof by 12 Stones blares in the speakers with lights swinging around the stadium lighting up the darkness from the dimmed lights. In cue with the music, pyros of red, white and blue go off when the sound of BANG!!! from Bulletproof. The pyros continue to go off on cue with the word being said. After the third pyro goes off the lights focus on the entrance of the stage where Donald Deruty is standing with his head tilted down. He falls to his knees and throws his hands up in the air where a final set of multi-colored pyros is fired. At the signal of the final pyros the dimmed lights turn back on and light the whole stadium with red, white, and blue lights. D-Day jumps to his feet as soon as the lights are back on. He takes his time walking down the ramp, as he gives high fives and shakes the hands of the fans. Once he reaches ringside he slowly walks up to the steel steps where he goes one step at a time until he reaches the ropes where he enters the ring with a swaggery hop to his walk. He looks up at the titantron where the sights of his memorial moments in his WCF career can be seen.
Zach Davis: If it wasn't for Chester's interference, there is a good chance that D-Day may've won that tournament. But the damage he sustained from Chester really hurt his chances.
The bell sounds. Chester rushes D-Day, Clotheslining him and knocking him into the turnbuckle. Chester hits him with several strikes until the ref yells at him to break it off, which he eventually does. D-Day stumbles out of the corner and Chester catches him and hits a big Belly to Belly Suplex!
Shannan Lerch: This match not starting off the best for the US Champ.
Chester kicks at D-Day repeatedly. He then grabs him by the legs and puts him in a Boston Crab.
Zach Davis: Submission!
But t he fans are firmly behind D-Day. They start cheering and chanting for him, causing him to slowly work his way to the ropes! The ref forces Chester to break the hold, which he does at the count of 4 1/2. Chester picks D-Day up but D-Day shoves him way. Chester runs at him again and this time Day snaps off a big Superkick!, causing Chester's face to go blank as he falls to the mat. Day quickly pins him.
No, Chester kicks out.
Shannan Lerch: Wow, thought he had it there with that one lucky move. Guess Chester isn't quite knocked out.
Day kicks Chester a few times before picking him up and bringing him back down with a Neckbreaker. He then climbs to the top.
Zach Davis: Frog Splash comin'!
Indeed, Day flies off the top, but Chester rolls out of the way at the last second, causing D-Day to crash into the mat. Day gets up, holding his gut, and Chester grabs him and hits a Fisherman's Suplex into pin!
No!, Day gets out of it.
Shannan Lerch: Perfect Fisherman's Suplex there, but not enough to keep D-Day down.
Chester has a look of pure frustration on his face. He glances at Gravedigger and finally rolls out of the ring. He walks over and shoves the timekeeper out of his chair. Chester grabs the chair and slides back into the ring with it as D-Day starts to get back up.
Zach Davis: What the hell is this? What is he doing?
The referee steps in and tries to take the chair from Chester. Chester shoves the referee down and turns to D-Day who has turned towards Chester and is floored by a big chair shot. The referee immediately calls for the bell.
Chester turns to the referee and superkicks him. Chester turns to Gravedigger who shakes his head with disappointment. Chester's face turns red and he picks D-Day up off the mat and plants him on top of the chair with a vicious Dust Biter.
Shannan Lerch: Oh my god!! He just planted the US champion with a Dust Biter on the chair.
Zach Davis: That could have done some damage and Chester has no one to blame but himself.
Gravedigger, Adrian and JJ all walk around the ring and up the ramp. Chester watches them leave and kicks the nearby ropes in frustration a few times.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Eyes found themselves back onto the jumbtron.
Bobby Cairo: ... Logan.
He stood beside Logan, looking down at him, and Logan’s eyelids opened and he looked back to him.
His body squirmed in the sheets and shook, but he couldn’t get up. It’s as if he had invisible restraints bounding his body. The truth was, though, is that he was just too broken to move. He finally gave up and stared back at a bloody hairy Bobby with the same calm that Bobby gave him, which seemed unusual for the state Cairo was in. His face was bleeding. No, it just wasn’t bleeding, it was dripping, drooling flesh, and some of it was spilling off onto the bed. Why wasn’t he being taken care of too?
Bobby Cairo: ...
Cairo took a hard swallow. He looked thirsty, real thirsty. His bruised lips were cut and chapped.
Bobby Cairo: Logan...
Something was in the hospital room, something that hadn’t truly been there between the two before, and that something was respect. Logan felt it. Bobby might’ve felt it too. Either way it was there.
He fought his arm up, even more harder than he had done the week before to reach for a fighting bull of Cairo, and his arm went up.. it went up and his ripped hand intertwined with Cairo’s ripped hand, and the hands squeezed.
Logan: Thank you..
Bobby Cairo: This’ss is it..
His face, Logan’s black and blue face managed to spread enough busted muscles to show a display of puzzlement.
Bobby Cairo: This i’sss it.
The grip tightened – tightened like a snake with a mouse – like a... serpent. It was too much for Logan to bear at the moment. He gave way and his eyes closed.
Zach Davis: How about a little game during this next match Shannan?
Shannan Lerch: What do you have in mind?
Zach Davis: If you say one of the wrestler’s names, you have to take a shot!
Shannan Lerch: I don’t have any alcohol.
Zach Davis reaches down below the announcers table and brings out a fifth of Jameson with two shot glasses.
Zach Davis: Can’t back out now!
As Davis finishes his statement fog rises up around the stage and rolls down the ramp. Snow starts to pour out from the ceiling onto the stage. “Mountain Song” by Jane’s Addiction starts playing on the PA system and Yukon Jack, wearing overalls, hiking boots, and a hat slowly strolls down the ramp toward the ring.
Shannan Lerch: Here comes Yukon Jack making his debut in the WCF!
Zach Davis: That’s a shot, bitch!
Yukon Jack uses the steel ring steps to elevate himself onto the side of the ring and enters it by stepping over the top rope. Jack takes his hat off and tosses it into the corner and prepares for the entrance of his challenger.
The camera pans to the titantron, where an oak door comes into view. A thump is heard, and the door shakes on its hinges. Several more thumps occur, until the blade of an ax busts through the door. Smoke begins to form on the stage, as a dark figure steps out. Suddenly a woman voice yells out from the speaker.
"No, go away!
Leave me alone!"
Smoke billows down the aisle as the man walks down it to the ring, his identity shrouded in the smog. Meanwhile, on the titantron, the ax makes a large hole in the wood, and a hand reaches in for the door knob, the fingernails painted black. Again the frightened voice rings out as the mystery man slides into the ring.
"Don't you come in here!
I don't want you here.!"
The mystery man watches the titantron now, as the door opens, and the same man standing in the ring, steps into the house. A lightning bolt cracks behind him, equal in volume to the string of fireworks that fire up on the ramp. The man on the titantron rubs his thumb on the door, leaving a bloody smear on the polished oak. He lifts the ax with both hands, as the voice pleads.
"No, No, No, NO!!
The scream is cut off as the man swings the ax. Blood appears to splatter across the tron, and then the name "Nathan von Liebert" is written with a finger painted black. Nathan, who is in the ring, falls on his knees, never taking his eyes off the 'tron until it goes black. He then scans the members of the crowd that he could without contorting his torso.
Zach Davis: Well, here is….NVL….fresh off an impressive showing at One.
Shannan Lerch: Those are his initials, that counts, take a shot!
The bell rings and match begins. Yukon Jack and Nathan lock up in the center of the ring with the bigger Yukon Jack getting the early advantage. Jack whips Nathan into the ropes and as Nathan bounces back Jack takes him down with a huge clothesline.
Jack reaches down with both hands and picks NVL up by the throat. Jack positions himself behind Nathan and then lifts him into the air locking in a bear hug. NVL screams out in pain and attempts to wiggle out of the hold. Jack locks in the hold tighter, and Liebert screams out in pain once again. He then starts to smile in a sadistic manner, wiggles his arm out of the hold, and lands an elbow to Yukon Jack’s skull. Jack drops NVL to the mat.
Shannan Lerch: The..newcomer..whose name sounds like Tucon Yak..looks impressive here in the early going.
Zach Davis: Good one, Shannan!
Nathan gets back up to his feet and ties up again with Yukon Jack. This time NVL gouges the eye of Yukon, who bends over holding his eye. Liebert continues his assault with a headbutt knocking Yukon Jack back against the turnbuckle. NVL walks over, straddles Yukon with his feet on the bottom rope and begins delivering a flurry of punches to Jack’s head. After three…four…five punches, Yukon uses his strength to throw NVL off of him.
Zach Davis: Great show of strength by…..that guy…
Shannan Lerch: I’ll give you a prize if you say his name!
Zach Davis: Yukon Jack! What’s my prize?
Shannan Lerch: A shot! Drink up little boy!
Inside the ring Nathan gathers himself and Yukon Jack rises out of the corner. For the third time in the match the two square up in center of the ring, and once again Nathan gains an advantage with a side headlock and then takes him down to the mat with a headlock takedown. NVL quickly picks Yukon back up and whips him against the ropes. As Jack bounces back Liebert stops his momentum with a kick to the gut, and then takes him back down with a swinging neckbreaker.
Shannan Lerch: Impressive series there by the One Invitational winner.
Zach Davis: I think I’m drunk.
Shannan Lerch: After two shots!? You pussy!
Nathan von Liebert rises to his feet and stares out at the crowd, who respond with loud boos. NVL smiles at the reaction and then quickly jerks his head back toward Yukon Jack, who is slowly getting back to his feet.
Zach Davis: Hey Shannan…I..uh…I want to…
Shannan Lerch: Stop talking Zach.
Liebert moves towards Yukon and as he approaches Yukon reaches out and grabs him by the throat, picks him up, and slams him back to the mat. Yukon grabs NVL and picks him back up to his feet. Yukon whips Liebert into the turnbuckle, who spins and hits the turnbuckle back first to stem the impact. Yukon runs toward Nathan and jumps splashing his body and all three hundred and twenty pounds of his weight into NVL. Liebert slumps to the ground.
Zach Davis: That’s a big m..man hitting..him.
Shannan Lerch: Who’s big Zach?
Zach Davis: Yukon…Yak, duh. Are you reven wacthing Shanooon?
Shannan Lerch: That’s another shot!
Zach Davis: NOOO! Damnit!
Yukon grabs NVL and picks him up once again. He picks the smaller Nathan von Liebert up over his head and begins to spin him around.
Zach Davis: He’s like..like a kite!
Yukon releases the spin, tossing NVL face first toward the mat..only, Nathan is able to contort himself in time to land on his feet. As Yukon turns around NVL lands a DDT taking Jack down to the mat. NVL quickly springs to his feet and makes his way toward the closest turnbuckle. He climbs to the top, turns himself around, and flies off hitting Jack with a suicide dive.
Shannan Lerch: The crazy guy is back in control of this match.
Zach Davis: That’s j..just like NVL…being all..all suicedial.
Shannan Lerch: SHOT! Man, you suck at this game.
Zach Davis: Oh, fruck. I’m going to go frow up. You win, game over.
Nathan von Liebert goes for the cover.
Shannan Lerch: Kickout by Yukon!
Nathan von Liebert rolls off of Yukon and back to his feet. He looks down at Yukon, who is lying motionless on the canvas. He turns and heads back to the turnbuckle, climbing once again to the top. He flies off, again looking for a suicide dive..
Shannan Lerch: Yukon moved!
Jack rolls out of the way and NVL hits the mat face-first. Yukon quickly gets back to his feet ready to capitalize on the miss. He grabs Nathan and picks him up to his feet. He lifts Liebert into the air and sends him right back down with a sidewalk slam. Yukon again gets to his feet, bringing NVL up with him. He sends a right hand toward Nathan’s face, knocking him back against the ropes. Yukon moves in, and swings him off the ropes. As Liebert bounces back Jack sends a big boot to his skull knocking him to the mat.
Shannan Lerch: Yukon Jack is looking impressive here in his first match, against a tough opponent too.
Yukon reaches down and picks Nathan up, swings him around and sends him viciously back down to the mat, facefirst.
Shannan Lerch: Impressive inverted powerslam by Yukon! He’s going for the cover!
Yukon hooks the leg.
Shannan Lerch: Nathan kicked out!!
Yukon slams his hands against the mat in frustration, and gets back to his feet. Once more, he reaches down and brings NVL up with him. Yukon raises his hand and goes for a punch, but Nathan quickly ducks it and pushes Yukon back against the ropes. Nathan quickly moves toward Jack and before he can get himself off the ropes Nathan grabs his arms and tangles them between the ropes, not allowing Yukon to move.
Shannan Lerch: What is this??
Nathan von Liebert runs over to the turnbuckle, climbs to the top, and then tiptoes his way on the top rope toward Yukon. Yukon uses his weight to try to free himself, but he’s locked in too tightly. Finally he tries to shake the top rope with his tied hands, but NVL retains his balance and closes in on his opponent. Nathan is now above Yukon and begins bouncing up and down on the rope causing extreme pressure on his opponents arms. Finally NVL reaches out for Yukon’s neck and drops on his knee and snapping his neck downward all the way to canvas.
Shannan Lerch: Demon Bounce! Impressive move by Nathan von Liebert!
Nathan goes for the cover.
Shannan Lerch: Nathan von Liebert scores another victory, this time over Yukon Jack!
Zach Davis: I’m back! What did I miss?
Shannan Lerch: An impressive debut by Yukon Jack, trumped by another impressive outing by NVL.
Zach Davis: Whatever, let’s move on.
Beep.. Beep.. Beep.
Nurse: This is’ss it.
He awoke and felt the nurse squeezing his hand. Her face appeared familiar but he swore he had never seen her up until now. He closed his eyes. He opened them. Samatha was squeezing his hand.
Samatha: Are you awake, ss’ssexy?
She flicked her tongue into the air and tasted the blood dried over his wounds.
Samatha: He’sss not here.
The door to the room pushed open and a nurse followed in. Not the one he had just seen a few seconds ago, but a nurse nonetheless.
Nurse: Good morning.
The pressure from his hand disappeared. He looked for Samatha but she had disappeared as well. Where did she go?
Logan: Samatha.. where is she..? Is.. Bobby here.. too..?
He wanted to look around the room but his neck was too stiff.
Logan: My friends.. or.. friend. The girl.. Samatha.. my..
Nurse: You haven’t had any visitors’sss, Mr. Avery.
"The last Rebel" by Lynyrd Skynyrd starts playing as Gator steps out carrying a rebel flag in one hand and his bloodhound beside him. Out next is Hunter in his Realtree camo hunting cargo pants, Realtree camo Redneck t-shirt and his black fingerless glove on his right hand. Right behind him is Adam Young in his Realtree camo cargo pants, Realtree camo Redneck t-shirt, and camo Bone Collector visor. The fans are chanting FTW as they walk towards the ring. Hunter and Adam slide into the ring and both are handed a can of Miller Lite by Gator. The pop the tabs and chug'em down. They throw the empty cans out of the ring and wait for the match to start.
Kyle Steel: The following match is a triple threat tag team match scheduled for one fall, and it is for the WCF Tag Team Championships! In the ring, they are the team of Adam Young and Hunter, they are the Redneck Express!
The sound of roaring motorcycles could be heard over the PA system as Pyrotechs explode down the entrance ramp and around the ring. It's Time for war by LLCOOLJ then begins as Night Rider makes his way to the ring with the Lovely Angel Fyre leading the way.
Kyle Steel: And their opponents, first, weighing in at three hundred thirty-five pounds, he is Nightrider!
"Won't Back Down" by Eminem blares on the PA. On the right side of the stage there is a bike ramp that extends just about to the middle of the Jumbotron. Atop the bike ramp is Jeff Purse. He is sitting on his bike, looking out upon the audience. He throws one had in the air as the audience cheers.::
"You can sound the alarm
At this he sets off down the ramp. Directly across is another ramp on the left side of the stage, which Purse heads for.
"Cadillac Sevilles, Coupe Devilles
Purse flies up the other ramp, launching off of it. He pulls off a small back flip, rides down the rest of the ramp, and comes to a screeching halt in the center of the stage. He gets off, kickstands it. He looks out, smiles, and throws his arms in the air. Red and Blue pyros explode behind him.
"I cut my toes off and step on the receipt before I foot the bill
He starts off down the ramp as Kari joins him, slapping five with fans, walking very casually but at a quick pace. When he gets to the ring he jumps up on the apron and quickly makes his way in through the middle rope, while Kari walks around the outside, pumping up the crowd. Jeff stands in the center of the ring, "air guns" a corner, pyros shoot out of it. He subsequently does that for every other corner, pyros of red and white shooting out every time. He anxiously awaits the start of the match.
Kyle Steel: And his partner, he is from Venice Beach, California, he is “The Future”, Jeff Purse!
Red and black strobe lights begin flashing, as the electronic beat of "Ghosts N Stuff" by deadmau5 begins blast eardrums, when Mr. FPV emerges from the curtains to a round of applause from the crowd. He runs down the ramp, giving fans highfives along the way before leaping under the bottom rope into the ring. FPV climbs to one of the turnbuckles and fistbumps to the music. Many fans join him. He does this with all of the other turnbuckles before moving to the center of the ring in a lotus position.
Kyle Steel: And their opponents, first, he is from Atlanta, Georgia, he is Frank Patrick Venable, Mr. FPV!
“Not Without A Fight” by Pillar hits the speakers, and Roy Speede steps out onstage, followed by Abbie Grande, a smile on his face as the fans cheer loudly. Wearing his customary ring gear and his vest, the hood over his head, he pauses atop the ramp holding his arms out horizontally, his hands in fists as Abbie walks past him in her pink dress and the crowd chants.
Crowd: SPEEDE! SPEEDE! SPEEDE!
He drops his pose as he begins toward the ring, Abbie now at his side.
Kyle Steel: And his partner, accompanied by Abbie Grande, from Richmond, Virginia, he is Roy Speede!
As he proceeds down the ramp, Roy high-fives the fans on either side of the slope, Abbie giving high-fives to the fans opposite him, and as he approaches the ring, Roy continues around to the ring steps as Abbie circles around the ring toward the announce table. He pauses for a moment, throwing the hood off his head as he steps up the steps, and continues out onto the ring apron. Again he pauses, this time pointing out into the audience as a tribute to the fans that made his career before stepping into between the top and middle ropes into the ring. From there, he crosses to the far turnbuckle, climbing to the second rung before pointing out to the fans in attendance, and doing his signature arms spread pose. He hops down off the turnbuckle and removes his vest, tossing it into the audience, giving one lucky fan a souvenir before leaning against the second turnbuckle, waiting for the match to begin.
< DING-DING-DING! >
Adam Young steps out onto the ring apron for his team as Speede and Purse take their places opposite them. FPV’s gaze shifts between the two larger men as they turn and gang up on the ex-tag champ, backing him toward his corner.
Shannan Lerch: Well, folks, I’m looking forward to this one tonight, how about you Zach?
Zach Davis: It’s great to see the tag belts coming back into play here tonight. A lot of the fans have missed tag team wrestling at its finest, and I’m excited to see a new pair of champions crowned again.
Shannan Lerch: Who is your pick for this match tonight, Zach?
Zach Davis: I’m going with the ex-champs, FPV and Speede. They’ve got their work cut out for them though, having a distinct size disadvantage over all their other opponents. What about you, Shannan?
Shannan Lerch: I’m going to go on a guess and say the new team on the block, Jeff Purse and Nightrider, are getting the win here.
FPV’s back hits the corner as Hunter and Nightrider approach at either side, and as Nightrider goes to strike, Hunter grabs him by the arm and spins him around. Speede makes the blind tag to start the match as Hunter powers Nightrider down with a clothesline, and Speede capitalizes, going springboard off the top rope for a diving one-leg missile dropkick that knocks Hunter to the ground. Speede stays on his feet and bounces off the ropes before catching Hunter with a twin leg drop. As he rolls to his feet, he’s caught by Nightrider, who whips Speed into his team’s corner.
Zach Davis: Seems like you may be making good on your promise here tonight, Shannan. Nightrider has Speede right where he wants him, and-
Shannan Lerch: And there’s the tag to Jeff Purse. Hunter’s still down, but he’s getting to his feet slowly now and-
Zach Davis: Hunter makes the tag to Adam Young.
Shannan Lerch: So we’re seeing all six ring spend time in the ring early on in this one.
Nightrider drives a boot into Speede’s gut and then a right to Speede’s jaw before stepping out onto the ring apron, and Purse springs up and over the top rope, holding onto Speede for a leg drop bulldog. As he gets to his feet, though, Adam Young catches him with a dropkick to the chest that bounces him off the ropes. Purse bounces off just as Young gets to his feet and catches him with a huge spinning heel kick. Young hits the mat as Purse gets to his feet, and Speede catches Purse with a kick across the bridge of his nose as he’s getting to his feet that flops him over on his back. Speede pins Purse.
Speede gets to his feet and tags in FPV, and FPV pulls Purse up to his feet. He catches Purse across the face with a strong kick but Purse uses the ropes to stabilize himself, and returns it with one of his own, his patented Spoke kick even. He pins.
Hunter makes the save after being tagged in my Adam Young, and pulls Purse to his feet. He flips him up and over with a scoop slam, and then stomps down hard on Purse’s knee. Purse cringes in pain, and Hunter looks over at FPV, who’s trying to get back up. He grabs FPV and sends him up overhead with a vertical suplex, and turns around to Purse again, but it’s too late. Purse slaps the outstretched hand of Nightrider, and in comes the big man. The two larger athletes stare one another down, waiting to make a move when FPV hits Hunter from behind with some sort of arm chop move to the back of the leg, and Hunter falls to his knees. Nightrider dashes forward and hits Hunter with a big boot, and then grabs FPV just before he can make the tag, and hits him with a snap suplex.
Shannan Lerch: Alright, Nightrider! Making good on my guess here!
Zach Davis: It’s not over yet, Shannan.
Nightrider pulls FPV to his feet, and then powers him down with a power slam, and pins.
Hunter tags in Young, and Young kicks Nightrider in the face. He staggers back, and Young goes for a clothesline. Nightrider pretty much takes it without so much as a budge, and Young tries again before Nightrider wraps his hand around Young’s throat and throws him into his and Purse’s corner. He tags in Purse, who kicks Young in the ribcage from outside the ring, and Nightrider steps out of the way, letting go as Young staggers forward. Purse goes to the top rope and drops down on Young with the Deflator, just as the slap of FPV tagging Speede echoes throughout the arena.
Shannan Lerch: This match is great! Utter chaos!
Zach Davis: And we still don’t know who’s gonna win this!
Purse gets to his feet as Speede goes spinning springboard, and catches Purse with the High Speede Impact. He drops down for the pin, but gets right back up as he sees Nightrider coming into the ring to break it up. As he stands up, Nightrider steps back onto the ring apron, and FPV catches him with a chop to the back of the knee that sends him to his knees on the apron, and Hunter pulls him down from the apron. The three start brawling on the outside as Speede looks around the ring to see Purse and Young both getting to their feet.
Shannan Lerch: What a match this has been!
Speede grabs Purse, and whips him into the ropes, following right behind to catch him with a dropkick against the turnbuckle. Purse falls to a sitting position against the turnbuckles as Speede gets to his feet and turns around to see Adam Young approaching him. Speede kicks Young in the gut, and tries to set Young up for the Silver Slice, but Young fights out of it and catches Speede with a kick to the gut. He powers him down with the 666. Young goes for the pin.
Speede powers out, and just as he does, Young turns around to see Purse approaching him. Purse shoves Young, and as Young gets to his feet, Purse nails him with the Spoke. He pins.
< DING-DING-DING! >
Speede tried to break up the pin, but it was too late. Purse gets to his feet as his music hits the speakers and raises his arms in victory as Nightrider shoves through the brawling outside the ring and the two celebrate.
Kyle Steel: Here are your winners, and new Tag Team Champions, Nightrider and Jeff Purse!
The two high five as Speede backs up the ramp, FPV still on the outside as Hunter helps Adam Young from the ring.
Zach Davis: What a match!
Shannan Lerch: I don't believe it! Two long time enemies have become tag team champions!
Zach Davis: It could have been any of these teams, Shannan. This was Mr. FPV's first match back, and I don't think Nightrider and Purse have seen the last of them..
Beep.. S’sssss.. Beep.. S’sssss.
The Serpent: Can you feel me now? S’sslithering within your skull, cozying up with your brain like a warm, warm, wwarrm bale of hay...
Logan: What the hell is this?
He opened his eyes and found that the ceiling was a different taint of white. Strange. They painted the room with a patient in it? Patient? This was a hotel room, not a hospital room. His head ached horribly. Was it because of the... the... the... beeping or the torturous match with Cairo? Beep. Beep. Beep.
The Serpent: S’ssss..
The reptile head peaked upwards from a side of the bed and a giant snake head shadowed against the hotel room wall. He felt terrified. Fuckin’ terrified. Who was this? WHAT was this?
The Serpent: S’sss..
Logan: Who are you?
The Serpent: Who are.. YOU?
He stares in horror at the giant snake. The crowd mummers within the arena, they mummer because they don’t have the slightest idea what is going on with Logan, they mummer because these nonsensical segments keep appearing on the jumbotron, segments of Logan... segments of Logan.. talking to... not a serpent, but... himself.
He couldn’t answer the question, and not because the serpent scared him or impaired his speech, but because he actually didn’t know.
Logan: I am.. I’m..!
The Serpent: S’sss.
The audience watching the jumbotron did not see the serpent, they never seen it. IT never existed. And if IT never existed neither did Samatha. And if Samatha never existed neither did IT. Neither the nurse he had seen, or the mutual showing of respect from Bobby Cairo, or the hospital. Only Logan and an annoying BEEPING alarm clock existed for the audience. That’s all they seen. That’s all that was really real. He didn’t know this. He thought he had been in a hospital room, and after the bout with Cairo.. he might have had been, but not now. He had been in this hotel all along, and he could never tell the difference, because he could no longer tell a difference between reality and fantasy. The Serpent was his dark imagination. IT had taken hold of his mind. Maybe it had been in there all along, boiling up in that ‘brain of treachery’, waiting for the right time to strike.
The Serpent: S’sss.
He threw a pillow at IT and it swallowed it with a single gulp. The audience seen different, of course, they simply had seen Logan toss a pillow into the air. Logan did not see what they saw – he simply couldn’t. His world had become different. So different that...
Logan: I AM..
The Serpent: S’sshall we take a look in the mirror? That will make thing’ss more.. eaasssy.
The audience watched Logan stand onto his feet and walk into the bathroom. The audience watched Logan look helplessly into the mirror and the audience saw Logan staring back at Logan in the mirror.
The Serpent: Do you s’ssee it now, Mr. Avery?
His fingertips went over his face. He wasn’t Logan. He never was that honkey. He was a black man. That’s what was in the mirror. Chris Avery was in the mirror. The truth was in the mirror staring back at him.
Lights go out. "Locust" by Machine Head hits. BIG POP! Lights come back on. Crowd is going nuts, as the WCF World Champion Corey Black walks out from the back, wearing very casual clothing. White 'jersey' style pants with black stripes down the sides, black hoodie, and WCF World Title around his waist. Corey walks down the ramp soaking in all the crowd's cheering. He slides into the ring under the bottom rope and calls for a mic.
Corey Black: I'm done.
The crowd stops. A WTF feeling comes over them.
Corey Black: ...done proving myself to any and all comers!
Corey Black: Never again will I have to sit there and defend my legacy. No man can come into WCF and look back at my career and deduce that I am an old, washed up nobody. Around my waist is the WCF World Heavyweight Championship. A belt, I might add, that I beat one of the most dominate men to ever grace a WCF ring for. Not only that, but it was at One. The highest point in my career comes damn near a decade into it. I stand here, on the second day into my second decade with WCF, on the 200th edition of Slam, wearing the World Title. That will never be taken away from me.
As such, in mere days, Odin Balfore and I lead troops into War Games. Two rings surrounded by a cage, and not a stupid WCW cage. This cage is tall. Tall enough to accommodate not only Odin and Gravedigger, but high flying moves as well. No way I'd walk into a cage without being able to bounce off the ropes. Let's get real. Odin has his band of... whatever, sucky dudes, and I have my team of WCF favorites. D-Day, Jay Price, and fuckin' Greenfever! Team Zombie will roll into XIII and bowl over Odin's Jobber Squad. It'll be a cold day in Iowa, but the War will heat things up. Oh, and Joel Hall, you're still not booked. Bring a trampoline and Occupy Des Moines for all I care. I'll see everyone else on Friday the 13th.
But before Corey can leave, Master of Puppets begins to play.
Zach Davis: Sigh..
Corey Black fights off his instinct to enjoy the song after the split second it takes to realize it means that Seth Lerch is coming out. Seth steps out, mic in hand.
Seth Lerch: Corey, let me cut to the chase. I'm a busy man. First I have to ignore Torture's texts all week because he's so pissed about how his appearance went.
Booing from the crowd at WCF's mistreatment of one of their biggest stars ever.
Seth Lerch: THEN I have to deal with friggin Jay Price coming back, and who knows where THAT is going to go. TTHHEENN one of my closest friends and the biggest star WCF has ever had, Logan, is going through a mental breakdown and apparently thinks he's Chris Avery or something, I'm going to have to contact him about that. Bobby Cairo, a man whom I've relied on quite a bit for the last few months, has disappeared.
Seth Lerch: So trust me when I say I don't want any trouble from you. I'm not out here to talk down to you, to tell you that your days as Champ are limited, or anything like that. But with XIII looming, I AM here to tell you who your opponent at Payback is going to be.
Murmuring from the crowd, everyone is excited for the One rematch.
Seth Lerch: Yeah, you all think that Odin Balfore deserves a rematch, right? WRONG.
Seth Lerch: I'm here to announce that at Payback, you will face the winner of the One Invitational... NATHAN VON LIEBERT! NATHAN VON LIEBERT GETS A SHOT AT THE WCF WORLD TITLE!
The crowd begins to boo. Much to the censors' dismay, Black mouths "the fuck?" Seth smirks.
Seth Lerch: Yes, I can safely say that I don't think anyone saw this coming. Corey, change is happening. Night Rider and Jeff Purse are our Tag Team Champions. Jonny Fly is our Television Champion. 2012 is a new year, and clearly it is time for out with the old, and in with the new. I could fight that, or I could embrace it. And as for you Odin, I've made the mistake of keeping you in the Title picture ever since I regained control of the company, so why don't you enjoy your time as a nobody, because that is all you will ever be from now on!
Master of Puppets plays again as Seth leaves. Corey looks at his belt, shrugs, and exits the ring as well.
Zach Davis: How about that? Nathan von Liebert gets a shot at Corey Black at Payback!
Shannan Lerch: I can barely believe it myself. We all thought Odin getting his rematch was a sure thing.
Zach Davis: Well now we know what the prize was for the One Invitational. Just, wow.
Kyle Steel: The following contest is set for one fall and the Television championship is one the line! Introducing first, the challenger. . .
Suddenly, hundreds of balloons begin to drift down into the ring as “GreasePaint and Monkey Brains” by White Zombie squawks through the speakersystem. The lights flicker to a momentary darkness. Just as the song kicks into gear, the lights blare back on - revealing Switches glaring down from a top turnbuckle.
Zach Davis: Switches has made his entrance. And he seems slightly healed from his brutal street fight with Jam Willy Jesus at One. Shannan, do you think Switches has any chance at winning gold tonight?
A loud pop is heard over the mics at the announce table.
Shannan Lerch: Sorry, but I didn't hear a word you just said. I just popped that balloon like I'd like to pop Switches' head.
Zach Davis: Which one?
Kyle Steel: From Mysterious Parts, he weighs in at 190 pounds. He is SWITCHES!
The lights in the arena go out. Blackness is all that prevails around as the crowd anxiously stirs. After a few seconds, blue strobes emerge on the stage zooming around in no particular pattern. The strobes center themselves onto the stage, overlapping themselves and illuminating the silhouette of a man.
“The Champ” by Ghostface Killah begins playing and the crowd begins to boo. The lights flicker on and off in conjunction with pyros shooting upward. The lights turn on fully and Jonny Fly is seen standing of the stage. Fly smirks at the crowd's reaction and begins walking down the ramp.
Zach Davis: Are those boos I hear from the fans in attendence?
Shannan Lerch: Well what do you expect? The men would rather see the belt wrapped around Kaylyn's waist instead of Jonny. He ruined their fantasies.
Zach Davis: Is that really a good reason to boo a hard-working champion?
Shannan Lerch: Well if they weren't booing for that, they're booing because he just crotched Switches on the top rope.
Switches, who was still perched on the top turnbuckle, had one foot balenced on the rope that Jonny used to springboard himself over to the ropes. So while Jonny held his belt to the crowd, Switches fell face first to the mat, a thud sounding off in the arena.
Kyle Steel: And his opponent, the Television champion. He is from New York, New York and weighs in at 225 pounds. He is Jonny FLY!"
Switches pulls himself to his feet, anger already evident on his face as the referee for the evening holds up the belt. With that he hands the belt to a stage hand and calls for the bell.
DING DING DING
And Switches explodes out of his corner, itching to get ahold of the champ who had just humiliated him in front of everyone in attendence. Jonny ducks under the clothesline attempt, but eats a spinning elbow from Switches who had stopped his momentum on a dime. With the champ stunned, Switches begins to repeatedly elbow Fly. Jonny stumbles back after each strike until he is finally on the ropes. The referee tells Switches to get him off the ropes, but the clown had only began his assault. He instead lays into the champ with more of those elbow drops until the count gets to four. He stops the assault long enough to toss Fly to the center of the ring, a sinister smile on his face.
Zach Davis: Switches cares little for the rules, bending them to the very point of breaking before he stops. Does he want to win tonight.
Shannan Lerch: He wanted to win before the match began, but now he wants to win while dealing the most punishment he can. Men don't like it when they get crotched.
Switches waits for Fly to stand before he traps his arms. His grin wider than before, he delivers one, two, three headbutts to the champ, stunning him. With a release, and Jonny not falling to the mat, Switches backs up, and performs a beautiful front flip karate chop to the skull of Fly. Still the champ doesn't stumble, so Switches reverses the next move to a Flash kick. This time Fly falls to the mat, and Switches goes for the first pin of the match.
Zach Davis: A nice sequence of flashy moves from Switches, but not enough to get the win.
Shannan Lerch: Jonny Fly performs a missile headbutt like it is nothing, so a karate chop with theratics will not put him out.
Switches doesn't seemed fazed, as he reaches down to pull Jonny up. Fly swings wildly once, smacking Switches across the face with a forearm smash to put space between them. With that, Fly begins to wail on the clown, giving him a little of what was given to him as he backed Switches to the corner. But he gives more back with a hurricanrana to put Switches into the center of the ring, followed by a moonsault onto the clown. But Fly doesn't go for the pin, insteading dragging Switches over to the ropes. With assistance from said ropes, he begins to stomp onto Switches without mercy, drawing a five count of his own from the referee, along with slight boos from the crowd. But he too ceases at four, for fear of disqualification.
Zach Davis: Jonny shouldn't do stuff like that or else he might lose his title because he was disqualified.
Shannan Lerch: Plus it doesn't earn the crowd's respect, as the boos proved.
Jonny pulls Switches to the center of the ring, and attempts for a twist of fate, but the clown breaks free. Switches shoots the ropes, and returns with a lariat that drops the champ. But Switches forgets the pin and locks in a facelock, hoping for a DDT. But Fly somehow breaks loose of Switches' hold, and hits a spinning heel kick to stun the clown. This time Fly shoots the ropes, rebounding to hit a spear, also known as The Splash. It took only slight rearrangment to turn this into a pin with both legs hooked.
Zach Davis: And Switches kicks out.
Jonny pulls the clown to his feet, and whips him into the corner. Switches turns in mid-stride, and takes the damage on his back instead of his stomach, allowing him to stumble out. But Fly was ready as he clocks Switches with an enzugiri. And Switches does not fall, showing his ability to take damage and still remain standing. So Fly whips him into the ropes. On the rebound Switches sticks out his arm, hoping for a clothesline, but Fly ducks under, and the clown connects with an unsuspecting referee, stunning him.
Zach Davis: Switches just hit the referee! This won't end well.
Jonny didn't wait for a call to be made as he charges the clown, hoping to hit a clothesline of his own, but the clown ducks. But Fly shifts his weight slightly to hit the ropes with full momentum, and springboards the ropes, going for a back elbow. Switches, a true cheater in the ring, pulls the still stunned referee to him so he will eat the elbow from Fly. And he does eat it, knocking the poor referee onto the ground, unconscious for the moment.
Shannan Lerch: It didn't end well for the referee. These men now have no one enforcing the rules now.
Switches didn't realize that the referee had been knocked out, as he grab Fly from behind, who had been staring at the referee dumbfounded. The clown takes Fly up and over with a rarely seen backdrop suplex, followed by a camel clutch. Center of the ring and no where to go, Jonny can do nothing but tap out. And Switches lets go too, not understanding no referee was conscious to end the match. So it was still on.
Zach Davis: And if the referee wasn't out cold, Switches would've won that title.
Shannan Lerch: Was that a ploy from Jonny? Did he realize the referee was out and figured if he "tapped," Switches would release the hold?
Zach Davis: Whatever his reason, he better be glad no one is out there to make it official.
Shannan Lerch: And he's happier that no referee is out there to tell him not to use that. Look. . .
What Shannan was bringing attention to was Jonny Fly pulling a baseball bat out from under the ring, similar to the bat seen in his promo last week. Sliding under the ring without Switches knowing, he swings for a knee and connects. The clown drops, and eats a second shot to his back.
Zach Davis: Now Jonny has lost a second time for DQ.
Shannan Lerch: And still no referee to call for the bell.
Jonny steps around Switches, a smirk on the face. He taps the bat on the clown's head, nodding his head as the crowd boos. With two hands on the bat, Jonny swings for the head on the figurative tee. . . and connects with thin air.
Zach Davis: Switches ducked under the blow.
Shannan Lerch: And he really is pissed now.
Switches rolls to his feet, and quickly delivers a knee strike to Jonny, causing him to drop the bat. Switches puts Fly's head between his legs, and lifts him up for a piledriver. But with anger fueling his senses, Switches does more damage by dropping the champion's head onto the bat.
Zach Davis: Piledriver on the bat! Brutal!
With the referee still knocked out, Switches rolls Fly onto his back, placing the baseball bat over Fly's throat. With that, the clown scales the top rope, looking down at the motionless champ with pure joy. Joy of the possibilty to deal serious damage to the champ.
Zach Davis: Switches wants to crush Jonny's throat.
Shannan Lerch: And the referee is slowly stirring. Switches can hit this and get an easy pin.
Zach Davis: And the referee won't know about anything that had happened while he was out. Will Switches connect?
Zach's question is answered with a resounding no as Jonny rolls out of the way as Switches leaps off for a huge leg drop. Switches lands hard on the bat, and the crowd winces with the clown. Jonny pulls the bat out from under the clown, and with the referee down still long enough, Jonny smashes the clown in the face. Switches drops to the mat, motionless, and Jonny tosses the bat out the ring. With the referee finally turned around to the match, he sees a downed Switches and Fly making a pinning attempt. He doesn't ask questions. Instead he counts the pin.
Shannan Lerch: Jonny Fly retains!
Fly stands up, the ref raising his hand.
Zach Davis: Jonny Fly just survived a match with a sadistic drug addicted maniac. That is a right of passage here in WCF. He's really starting to make a name for himself.
Shannan Lerch: AND he won a main event match, Zach. Don't forget that!
Zach Davis: After what Switches suffered at One, I'm surprised he even made it to the arena to fight, so good for him for showing up. That poor guy needs PCP money bad...
Gravedigger, JJ and Adrian are shown leaving the arena. Hank Brown catches up with them.
Hank Brown: Gravedigger! We've just received word that after the commercial break, your long term adversary and one of your XIII opponents, Jay Price, is scheduled to make an appearance. Don't you plan on staying to see what he has to say?
JJ and Adrian look at Gravedigger, wondering if he's going to take the time to humor Hank Brown.
Gravedigger: You two go on ahead, I'll join you to get the hell out of this city shortly.
JJ and Adrian nod, heading off. Gravedigger turns towards Hank. He takes a deep breath, thinking about what he wants to say for a moment or two.
Gravedigger: Hank, let me tell you something. I-
But without warning, a monster of a man tackles Gravedigger down from behind. The man hits him repeatedly with a slurry of punches to the face.
Hank Brown: OBLIVION!?
Indeed, Oblivion is back! The live arena pops like crazy as Oblivion gets up, grabbing the Hardcore Title that Gravedigger dropped. He waits for Gravedigger to stand and runs at him with it, smashing him right in the face!
Oblivion: THIS.. IS.. MINE! AND I.. AM.. BACK!
Oblivion throws the Title down onto Gravedigger's body before leaving the scene. Adrian and JJ, hearing the commotion, finally return, and quickly check on the status of Gravedigger. Hank Brown runs off, always the coward.
Zach Davis: What a night! One can only expect that next week is going to be just as ama-
Suddenly all of the light's in the arena cut, plunging the crowd into darkness...well at least until they all whip out their cell phones. The Slam-A-Tron 5000 comes to life as footage from the main event at One begins to play...
Shannan Lerch: WAIT WHAT THE FUCK-
JAY MOTHER-FUCKING PRICE IS IN THE RING. He spins Torture around and executes The Downfall!
Zach Davis: WHAT THE FUCK IS JAY PRICE DOING HERE?!
The crowd is in total disbelief. They're borderline silent, just out of shock.
Shannan Lerch: WE THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD. I.. I thought he was dead... I never thought we'd see him again.
Zach Davis: For a long while we thought Torture was dead too! Torture has just been attacked by Jay Price, I don't know what to say, I don't believe it...
Price stands, a sick grin spreading across his face. He looks into his hometown crowd, which has erupted into a "WEL-COME-BACK!" chant. Black looks up, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Shannan Lerch: I don't know what to say...
Zach Davis: I think we may have seen one of the most significant events in WCF history. The Future is back, and attacked Torture of all people.. what is Seth going to have to say? Will we ever see Torture again after this?
Shannan Lerch: Zach, we still have a World Title match going on, and the ref is down!
Looking down once more at Torture, Price slides out of the ring and escapes through the crowd, leaving the Odin, Black, and a practically unconscious Torture still in the ring.
The video fades back out to a black screen as once again the arena is dark. The Philadelphia crowd is absolutely buzzing in anticipation when an all too familiar voice comes over the PA System.
Voice: Did you miss me?
The crowd replies emphatically with cheers as "4 Words To Choke Upon" hits, accompanied by a strobe like light display from the stage. Jay Price casually walks out onto the stage, a smile from ear to ear as the hometown faithfuls chant "Welcome Back".
Zach Davis: And this crowd has gone completely insane. Jay Price, not seen in WCF for over 5 months, shocked the world at One when he returned and attacked Torture, laying him out in the center of the ring. I myself am still in a state of shock, how about you Shannan?
Zach turns to Shannan, who remains silent as she stares down Price from the announce table.
Zach Davis: Err...nevermind.
Price, still soaking up the cheers, finally begins the walk down the ramp toward the ring. He smacks a few hands and then pauses in front of the ring as he takes a glance around him. Shannan continues to stare him down as Price shoots her a wink and waves. Shannan responds with a gesture of her own as Kyle Steel walks up to Price and hands him a microphone. Price shrugs off the hate and rolls into the ring as the crowd is still going apeshit bananas. The music fades out and the lights in the arena come back on as Price stands in the center of the ring, basking in the cheers.
Crowd: WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK!
Price holds up his hand for silence as he raises the microphone, but that only brings about a louder reaction from the crowd. He looks around at the audience and then back toward the camera, a knowing smirk on his face.
Zach Davis: Anywhere else in the world the crowd would be pelting the ring with trash, but here in Philadelphia this man is a God.
Price drops the microphone to the mat and heads for the corner. He climbs up to the second turnbuckle and raises a one finger salute to the crowd.
Crowd: PRICE! PRICE! PRICE! PRICE! PRICE!
Price hops out of the corner and heads back to the center of the ring. Several minutes, and a few more chants, later the crowd finally listens and quiets down as Price raises the microphone.
Jay Price: Philadelphia, how the fuck are ya?
The crowd emphatically responds with cheers.
Jay Price: So a funny thing happened the other week. I'm sitting at home, watching Slam when the phone rings. I pick up and low and behold it's Seth Lerch, asking me to stay away from One. Me? Can you believe that shit?
Boos from the crowd.
Jay Price: So I say to myself, "Self, what should we do about this? Should I stay home, drink a few beers, call up a hooker and pull off the Tijuana Tortilla..."
Zach Davis: Oh my, quite the spender.
Jay Price: "...Or should I do what I do best, and show up at One and raise hell like only I can?"
Pop from the crowd.
Jay Price: See, Lerch forgot the golden rule when it comes to dealing with yours truly. And that rule, quite simply, is never, ever try to tell me what the fuck to do, because I will always do whatever I want. So when Lerch tells me to stay away from One, not only do I not so kindly tell him which orifice he can blow it out of, but I show up during the main event of his precious little baby and knock his lap dog down a peg.
Zach Davis: Obviously referring to the attack on Torture.
Jay Price: I can't even begin to tell you how good it felt to drive that smug son of a bitches face into the mat last week. To see the look in his eyes when I spun him around, that second just before his face hit the mat, oh my friends it was a thing of true beauty. In fact, let's see that one more time.
Price turns and points to the Slam-A-Tron 5000.
He spins Torture around and executes The Downfall!
Jay Price: One more time!
He spins Torture around and executes The Downfall!
Jay Price: SLOW MOTION!
Jay Price: And now in Spanish!
El girar Torture alrededor y ejecutar el Downfall!
The crowd is loving every moment of this as they chant for "One More Time."
Jay Price: You want to see it again?
Huge pop from the crowd.
Jay Price: You heard the people. Play it again!
Price points up to the Slam-A-Tron 5000...but it remains off.
Jay Price: Well it appears that somebody in the back can't appreciate a work of art like we can. Which brings me to why I'm back. I've done a lot of things since I first came to WCF back in 2009. Some I'm proud of, and some not so much. I've won singles gold. I've won tag gold. I've won matches big and small. And I've been part of some of the most dominant teams and stables that wrestling has ever seen. To put in bluntly, I've done it all.
Price lowers the microphone as he looks out into the crowd.
Jay Price: I've done it all....except for one thing.
Huge pop from the crowd as a "World Fucking Champ" chant starts up.
Jay Price: No, not that. As much as I would love to take the belt off of Creeping Death and give you the World Champion that you deserve, I've got far bigger fish to fry.
"Torture" chants pop up from the crowd.
Zach Davis: Could this be it? Could we finally see Torture versus Price?
Jay Price: No, not Torture. Let's take a little trip back in history. Back to January 2011. I was standing right here in this very ring, looking into the eyes of Seth Lerch as he blasted me for "letting him down" at One. Nevermind the fact that it was his arrogance and Napoleon complex that kept him from keeping his World Champion around for the biggest show of the year. No, it was all my fault that he had to scramble at the last minute to fix the show and throw together a few matches to name a new Champion. And that's the problem with Seth Lerch. He'll never take the blame when he fucks up, he'll just find a scapegoat and throw it on them. But getting back to that night, after he get's done with his little rant, I get jumped from behind by one of his masked hired goons. And what do you know, it's the same masked man that just a few months earlier attacked my girlfriend at the time and caused the miscarriage of my son.
Price pauses for a moment as he takes the time to glance over at Shannan at the announce table. She fights back tears as she stares daggers through Price.
Jay Price: But then, as if the night was a god damn M. Night Shyamalan film, Lerch announces to the world that he was the one who ordered the attack. Take a minute to let that process. The owner of this company had someone attack his own sister and kill his future nephew...just because I "let him down".
Shannan is now openly sobbing as Zach tries to console her.
Jay Price: So why am I back in WCF? I'm back for revenge.
Massive pop from the crowd.
Jay Price: I wanted nothing more than to get my hands around the neck of that cowardly bastard, but as fate would have it, our illustrious owner took it upon himself to take a leave of absence as he dealt with some "personal issues". Let's call it what it really was though, an empty sack. But now the times come, I'm here... Seth's here, so now's as good a time as any for the Baby Killer to get his.
A "Baby Killer" chant starts up among the crowd.
Jay Price: Yeah, that's right, chant it. Chant it so damn loud that they can hear it in the back.
Crowd: BA-BY KILL-ER *clap clap clapclapclap*
BA-BY KILL-ER *clap clap clapclapclap*
BA-BY KILL-ER *clap clap clapclapclap*
Shannan Lerch: THAT'S ENOUGH!
The crowd hushes as Shannan stands up, rips her headset off and heads for the ring. She climbs in and goes right up to Price's face.
Shannan Lerch: That's enough Jay. Just stop.
Price shakes his head no.
Shannan Lerch: Don't do this. What my brother did was horrible. It was despicable. But...
Jay Price: BUT?!? There is no but Shannan. The fact that you can even begin to forgive him baffles the mind.
Shannan Lerch: HE'S MY BROTHER!
Jay Price: And that was your child he helped murder.
Shannan Lerch: You think I don't know that? You think I don't think about it every day and every night? I will never forgive him fully, but I can't just stand by and let you do something to him. So for me, for what we had in the past, don't.
Jay Price: Shannan, get out of the ring.
Shannan Lerch: No. Not until you promise me that you'll leave him alone.
Jay Price: Get out of the ring now.
Shannan Lerch: N...
Price grabs her by the head and drops her face first to the mat as the crowd takes a collective gasp. Price sits up on the mat, staring at Shannan's body as the crowd pulls a one-eighty and begins booing.
Jay Price: Shannan, I told you to leave, why couldn't you just listen? I didn't want to have to hurt you. It's just Seth has this coming, and I can't let anyone get in the way.
Price pushes himself up to his feet as the crowd's boos intensify.
Jay Price: You see this Lerch? This is all because of you. Her blood is on your hands. You brought all of this upon yourself when you stole from me what can never be replaced. Seth, I don't know if you're a religious man or not, but I suggest you start praying because Hell and Earth are going to meet very soon.
And with that Price drops the microphone to the mat as "4 Words To Choke Upon" hits the speakers. Slam goes off the air with a shot of Price standing in the center of the ring as medics rush the ring to check on Shannan.
